My parents own a very nice trash can by Rubbermaid. I love the quality and had searched everywhere for one like it. I found plenty of them online for nearly $200! When I found this product for less than half the price, I bought it right away. This thing is worth every penny. We've been using it for about six months, and I have nothing but good things to say: 1. Simple Assembly - Yes, it took some elbow grease, but I was able to put it together in about 2 minutes. 2. Large Capacity - My family of 6 generates a lot of trash. Our old trash can would fill up daily, but this one every other day. 3. Very Sturdy - What good is a large trash can if it doesn't hold up? I expect this one to last for many years. 4. Easy Operation - The step is strong, convenient and works consistently well. 5. Holds Bag in Place - It has little hooks that help to keep the bag from falling down inside. 5. Easy to clean - Any stains can be easily wiped away with a damp cloth. 6. Decent Looking - Nothing fancy, but has a simple clean design. It's big, but the neutral color blends in with any decor.

For a long time, I debated replacing our old, beat up, mismatched trash cans. They weren’t exactly appealing, even though they were hidden away at the back of the showroom in the dock area . After carefully reading the description and comparing these to other options, I decided to give them a try—they seemed like the right size, solidly built, and the perfect color for our space. When they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by their excellent quality. Assembly was a breeze thanks to the clear instructions provided. I set them up side-by-side (one for regular trash and one for recycling), and they look fantastic! I couldn’t be happier with this upgrade and only wish I had done it sooner. This is a great can. Others complained about lid & pedal install and sticker removal. Mine didn't have a sticker (nor any sign of one having been on the can to begin with) so I did not have to deal with that. I found the lid and pedal install to be relatively easy. One thing you need to understand is the opening is HUGE. They do not make it clear what size bag to use. I prefer the "stretchy" bags with the drawstring and odor control. The 20 gallon I had been using on my 16.5 gallon round can did not come close to fitting this 17 gallon can. The 30 gallon worked fine. I find the can to be hefty with a well fitting lid that should keep odors inside the can. The large sized opening should be great for assuring that things immediately fit into the can without all the extra flattening, ripping and squishing.

This is a great spacious trash can. You have to attach lid to base. I’m the least handy person. And I have no mechanical (and little special) sense. Fortunately, I can read. Step 1: “Pray tabs out…” TF ? *Pray* tabs??! So, I googled it. Maybe it’s a buzzword that people who *assemble* use. Nope. I call a few handy people. Surely, they’ll know the jargon. No luck. Then, I notice the company has a MN location and phone number. I call and a *human* answers! I explain my dilemma and beg the nice lady to share the meaning of the shibboleth. After assuring her I’m *praying* I can put this together, she investigates and returns. Its supposed to *prys*. Good news. I pried the plastic into place and I now have a commodious trash can with a foot pedal that opens the lid. I put it together. It took me about an hour. It will probably take you 2 mins. Its a nice, thick plastic and it’s the perfect size for the oversized bags I accidentally just bought. Synchronicity!

Absolutely the worst trash can I've ever had in my life. The pedal did not open the lid and even when it did, not all the way. Its badly designed also where putting a liner inside will cause the lid, that doesn't work all that well to begin with, not to work at all. Id return it but it isnt even worth thr hassle. U get what u pay for as always

Kitchen Trash Bin on Steroids. This is the Trash Bin you need if you have a busy household where more than one person cooks their own meals & have multiple pets...And the person leaving this review is the only person taking out the garbage without having to deal with multiple wimpy foofy tiny regular kitchen bags that smell like a mountain breeze but tear easily. Will be a money saver for larger bags in the long run. Solid & Sturdy. Best thing I've bought for my kitchen in a long time. Highly Recommend. Thanks !

I wanted a kitchen pail that allowed me to throw trash without using my hands while cooking. Many motion-control trash cans looked great but were pricey, so I opted for this manual foot-pedal trash can. I’m impressed with its size - it’s generous and works well for a busy kitchen. My only concerns are that the lid cannot stay open when needed, and the initial setup of the foot lever was a bit tricky. Overall, it’s a functional product, though it feels slightly overpriced for the material and construction quality.

4/14/20 After reviewing other reviews, I noticed that the one piece was installed backwards (instructions are only pictures, and not very helpful deciding what is front and what is back). Once we struggled to pull the pieces apart and flip it around, struggling to get them back into place - it works like a charm!! It's now a 5-star instead of my initial 3-star. The foot pedal comes loose from the piece that lifts the lid, constantly. This is used in a business and the goal of getting it was to not have to use hands to lift the lid (less touch points due to COVID-19) but we're having to lift the lid or tip the waste basket over to try to reassemble it. Very frustrating.

To those who used zip ties to hold the foot pedal linkage together: YOU PUT IT ON BACKWARDS! Just turn the long piece of linkage around and it'll work perfectly. This can is perfect for Kirkland's blue 30 X 33inch trash bags or any other 90l ribbon tying bags. The side hooks do a great job of keeping the bag fastened to the can. Also, the can has a slow closing function that makes it even easier to use. A very simple, but rugged design. I can see it lasting decades and I'm very satisfied with this purchase.
