Love the taste - from the fridge!
The instructions tell you to put it in the fridge. My tasting buddies and I were dubious at first but the taste is amazing - like wine and whisky - very intriguing and very moorish. It is a bit addictive so beware!

Grapes.
Okay, so having typed this in after five sherry glass full measures of the whiskey:I have ordered & necked auchentoshan before, but not the sauvingnon blanc barrel finish - & I have to say that I drank it while eating a box of chilled green grapes - Morrisons finest (!) and the taste sensation was absolutely mind blowing. I really like Auchentoshan - I've been doing a taste tour of the various regions & islands and have come upon Auchentoshan entirely by accident on route - try typing all this while p155ed - and ogveriding the blinking autocorrection - do try this whiskey chilled. And eat grapes. You'll like it!

Add some water.
Tried it neat first and it was just a bit nondescript I could tell there was some fruitiness there but the alcohol was covering it. When I added some water it really changed and came alive, there was Apple, Pear, grape and citrus.

Smooth, light but flavoursome.
I've always enjoyed drinking Auchentoshan whiskies, particularly Springwood, however this is an excellent whisky with a great taste and a really fresh smell. The first bottle I had was a gift from my wife as she loves Sauvignon Blanc wine, I'm so glad she bought it, I've now bought many bottles of it over the past five years.

Well worth £27, but I wouldn't pay £52.
Delicious light citrus flavour. Definitely better frozen, but OK at room temperature.Buy if on special deal, but not worth full price.

Disappointing
Okay, I figured, it's on sale in a daily deal for £10 off - £40 instead of £50 - so why not try it? I read some reviews online, and they were mostly positive. But this is not a £40 bottle of whiskey; this is, at best, a £25 bottle. It's a bit harsh; with no age, it tastes like an 8 or 10 year old, nothing at all like, say, the 12-year old Balvenie which is cheaper. I think the idea about drinking it chilled is interesting, and I put it in the freezer. The chill gets rid of much of the harshness (hmm, maybe that's why the marketing team came up with the idea of drinking it chilled...), and does reveal some interesting flavors. But, in the end, it's overpriced, trying to be hip and different, and I feel cheated. Save your money, and buy a real whisky.(One interesting thing I discovered when looking at reviews of this whisky: it's an Amazon exclusive. That means that Amazon sells enough whiskey, and perhaps to people who don't buy whiskey in the more serious outlets, that a brand thinks it's worth tailoring a product just for that demographic. Hence the daily deal; Amazon needs to move this, so they're dropping the price, which is clearly excessive.)

A great quality whisky, gorgeous box
I like a good single malt, and tend to stick with some usual ones from the supermarkets (there is usually a good selection of deals between £20 and £25). But ahead of Christmas I decided to buy something new and ordered this unusual Auchentoshan. Apparently it was created to be drunk from the fridge. The first impression is that the box is GORGEOUS. It is very Christmassy/ Wintery and would make a great gift. The whisky is really good too, and is definitely quality. It looks and tastes light, but then develops into a more complex taste that you don’t tend to get from cheaper whiskies. I actually prefer it room temperature to chilled, but agree that it tastes great on ice too. Very happy with the purchase.

Very accessible
I'm not a whisky drinker but I'm making a concerted effort to educate my palate. This is very accessible as an entry level sip. It doesn't have the overpowering smoke of the Islay whiskies, and the kind of floral note from the white wine casks is more easy-going than the Speyside varieties. Note that the distillery is right next to a crematorium so there might be the odd particle of dead person in this drink.
