SHARKSKIN Chillproof Climate Control Long Sleeve Wetsuit

I have been looking for this product for almost 20 years!!
I had a vest that was something like this long, long ago, in a life far, far away and it was as amazing as it was rare (incredibly so). I found it in a teeny dive shop while attending an out of state training session, paid a small fortune for it based on the recommendation of another attendee, and it became a beloved piece of gear very quickly. Unfortunately, it did get used to death and I was never able to find another one, until now. But this is even better as it has wind-proof super-powers!I ordered a Large. I'm 6', 185 lbs with an athletic build. My muscle mass is not top- or leg-heavy and the sizing chart that Sharkskin provided worked appropriately. When the top is dry, it fits with similar compression as what you might expect from a winter long-sleeve from Under Armour. But this is considerably thicker. The liner is soft and feels good against skin. There are no seams that rub and there is plenty of room in the armpit area so that I was able to run, swim, do pushups and have full range of arm movement without that irritating armpit pinch that so many tight products give. The neck is tight enough that it keeps the lower neck warm, but loose enough that it does not irritate my throat. The zipper has nice, fat teeth that look bomb-proof and behind the zipper is an inch-wide strip of fabric to keep the zipper separated from the skin. I deliberately tried to get the zipper to catch on that fabric strip, but it won't do it. I just zips up and down the way it is supposed to. The bottom of the shirt extends well past the belt area, which is nice for keeping the abdomen covered and warm in the wind.In the water this does not provide a whole lot of protection. It isn't as tight as a wetsuit and, of course, the bottom is open so plenty of cold water can scoop up inside. The fabric also "stretches" a lot when wet. The arms fit me perfectly when dry, but become loose and stretch enough that I could cover my hands if I pulled the wrinkles down. It is an odd feeling, but not a deal breaker. It just feels sloppy on the arms. There is similar stretch across the torso, but it isn't nearly as noticeable.Back on land, all that soft fabric in the liner just lets go of water and it pours from the shirt for several minutes. Bend over to grab something off the ground and water pours out of the sleeve. The shirt's inability to hold water is part of how it dries so fast. To speed up the drying, as soon as I leave the water, I hug myself then squeeze my biceps and forearms, pushing water out of the sleeves. This performs beautifully in the wind. Soaking wet with a crisp breeze has always been something I've disliked about water-work. Its not a big deal with this shirt on (assuming you know how horrible those conditions are normally). I'm considering getting a set of shorts to match.Cleaning it is a snap. So far, I have just worn it into the shower and run some shampoo across it, take it off, squeeze it out, let it absorb the shower water, squeeze it out and hang it up. No stinky wetsuit smell, no salt water stink, and it is ready to go the next morning. And there is no special effort required to get sand out of it.This is also a great top to wear if you have to stand or work out in the rain but don't want to mess with bulky ponchos, umbrellas, or don't want to break out your gortex. To wrap it up, this is a SUPERB product. If I were to be working around water in cooler temperatures with a good chance of getting wet, I'd take this shirt. It is very comfortable when dry and fits like a glove with comfortable compression. It does everything as advertised. However, if I were going to be in the water most of the time or on land but wet most of the time, I would consider buying a size smaller, getting it wet before dressing, or dressing in the water (so I can get it on), and then I'd just be sure to keep it wet while working. For casual use, I think I would prefer the short sleeve version (Product ID: B00KF1LKXU) as I think eliminating the stretchy sleeves would be a bit more comfortable when I'm not worried about hypothermia and I could still be comfy if it dried out. Sharkskin Chillproof Men's Climate Control Short Sleeve With Reflector (2X-Large). I think I'll give that vest a try next season.

Not well made
We ordered twice: s and m. The s is too small and the m is too big(!) Also, on the first one, the seams were a bit rough looking and in both cases, the fit was too short under the arms and there was no freedom of movement. Very unconfortable.

Delivers as promised! Great layer for extra warmth
My son absolutely loves it! Perfect extra layer or alone for some added warmth diving in the springs. Adds time to all his dives. Runs small. But totally recommend.

Sizes run small
The sizes run a little small and there isn't much give in the fabric. Tough to put on but once it's on you're very warm and wind proof. Great product just wish they were a little more standard in their fit.

Rash guard
Sharkskin Wetsuit cuff leaks water letting cold water in unlike a regular wetsuit.I use it while SUP like a rashly.

Good fit and good insulation
I got this as my primary layer for scuba diving. Sharkskin is easy on and easy off and does a good job with insulation. It's more flexible than neoprene and WAY more comfortable. Plus, it makes putting on and taking off a neoprene outer layer so much easier.

It seems very warm and well constructed. However, ...
It seems very warm and well constructed. However, it runs extremely small and has little to no stretch. I'm 5'11, 165lb, and fit. I tried a medium and it was very small. I could not get it on at all. The diving I'm doing will be warmer water so I returned it and went with a thinner Oneil rash guard.

Way too small for me!! Amazing quality!!
I'm 5'8" 180 lbs athletic build. I could barely get this off once I tried it on. Great material and workmanship. Though must be mismarked as X-LGE. Typically I wear a large.
