Very effective and easy to use
I previously had a different (more expensive) record cleaner but got so bored using it as it was very slow. However, this Project record cleaner is easier, faster and more effective to use. I particularly like the design which holds/protects the record label and means you don’t have to put the record playing surface on a wet/dirty mat! This was the problem with my last record cleaner. The process to clean is very simple. I mixed the cleaning fluid and put it in an old spray bottle so I can accurately apply the solution to the record. You then hold the brush in place while the turntable revolves. You reverse the direction after the initial spin which seems to really help get the record clean (my old cleaner didn’t do this). The vacuum is very powerful and leaves the record sparkling clean. Most importantly, surface noise has become virtually non-existent on my record deck and sound quality is improven with more detail coming through. Very happy!

Great cleaner, has transformed my vinyl
I’ve been using a manual cleaning kit for a couple of years, but there are a few records it’s just not managed to clean up, so I thought I’d give one of these a try on the strength of reviews here and in HiFi forums and magazines.I’d previously been put off by the price, but it’s equivalent to 20 records, and I’ve bought a few more than that over the years so it seemed a good investment in my collection.I’ve just cleaned some of my most persistently crackly records, and the results are fantastic, they’ve been transformed. It feels very well made and whilst it looks a bit ungainly at first, cleaning is pretty quick and easy.Definitely happy with this - it’s been as worthwhile as upgrading my HiFi would have been.

One of those things you wished you didn't have to buy but glad you did!
I'm a collector of rare and old records from the 70s - 90s and was increasingly finding that I couldn't enjoy playing my records due to dust and debris that had collected on my records over the years, despite cleaning brushes etc. I've cleaned 28 records, it's a good piece of kit and cleans records well, my records took more than 3 spins to clean but that wasn't an issue. Clockwise and anticlockwise rotation is helpful. The unit is very loud, think of a hoover and some... but I think most worth buying are. The only down side was that the replaceable felt only last 20 records before I needed replacing and could have done with some more included. The solution will last a while on a 1/20 ratio all in all very happy as my records have come up well.

Badly Made.
This was my second one, first started to make a very lound grinding noise when using the vacuum cleaner part of the cleaner. My first unit was less then two years old wih on average ten vinyl records clean per week, so not over used. Now my second unit had a fault from the start. The vacuum cleaner did not work the air was coming out the side of the unit where the hole is to drain the fuild. And was it lound just as lound as my first unit.Had sent back and got a full refund. Please don't buy this rubbish I had a look in side my ist unit and it is poorly built unlike there record players.Look around for better, may cost more but as they say you get what you pay for.Jazz Ian

What a difference!
Like many others I am always looking to get a bit more performance from my HiFi. Manual cleaning systems for vinyl make a difference but often there were still crackles and pops so I took the plunge and bought the Pro-Ject VC-S2 ALU and what a difference it makes. I have a Rega RP3/Elys 2. I use a Hexmat isolator and a Flux HiFi sonic stylus cleaner. The first record I cleaned was HQ by Roy Harper. My copy is well played and did have quite a lot of background noise. After cleaning it sounded perfect. The Pro-Ject is easy to set up and use. There are many good videos on YouTube. The vinyl not only looks clean but it seems to eliminate any static. I am truly impressed.

Game changing
This is the final stage of my cleaning "system"They are big, noisy and hard to store but very effective and very easy to use.Buy ear plugs and an extra goat brush (the bristles fall out of the one supplied). My records are very grateful and so is my stylus and my ears.

A Remarkable Piece of Equipment!
OK, I NEVER wanted to buy one of these. I’ve resisted buying a record-cleaner at every possible juncture. Big, bulky, and ‘messy’. Plus, would it REALLY make a difference? I have a large vinyl collection, and many of my albums are over thirty-years old.A few days ago I was just gutted when one of my favourite albums from the late-80’s just wouldn’t play right. It had been looked-after well, but just looked ‘dirty’ on the surface, and kept ‘jumping’. It shouldn’t have - my turntable is a Linn LP12/Ekos/Adikt. So no problems there. Perhaps the plastic liner of the record sleeve had degraded over the last thirty-years, making the record ‘dirty’?So I ‘bit the bullet’ and bought this Pro-Ject record cleaner. I’m just absolutely flabbergasted! Quite apart from making my ‘unplayable’ records playable, they just sound so much better now. A MUCH quieter background level, and NO clicks n’ pops. The top-end is now so much quieter, and sweeter, especially on my older records. Amazing. This record cleaner is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, especially if like me you have a relatively large collection with many older albums.
