Just Like Sugar
This product was recommended to me by my natural medicine doctor. He said it is high in fiber and is much better than anything else out there, including stevia. He also advised my husband to stay away from regular sugar as much as possible because of inflammation. So we have stopped most sugar products. Surprisingly, it hasn't been hard. My sleep problems have mostly disappeared since I stopped regular sugar. I sleep through the night without waking up and losing sleep. Using Just Like Sugar in place of other sweeteners has been relatively easy. I ordered the regular sugar bulk and the packets (which are very useful for travel and going out to restaurants). When I order coffee, I just slip in two packets (instead of two teaspoons of regular sugar) and enjoy my coffee. I now will order the other Just Like Sugar products (brown sugar, baking sugar, etc). I'd like to try making cookies and cakes. When I made my own jam, I used regular Just Like Sugar and made a very tasty blueberry jam as well as strawberry jam. I use it on my yogurt, and my cereal. For me, it is a great substitute. Maybe because I have been able to wean myself off of most sugar, my taste buds have adjusted. Yes, it is a little expensive, but where my health is concerned, I'm willing to put out a little more money. But since I don't eat many sweet products any more, my body has accepted the change and doesn't crave sweet food as much any more. But when I do need a sweet fix, I have Just Like Sugar to fall back on and keep me satisfied.

I like that this is one of the only "whole food" ...
I finally found a fake sugar my stomach can handle! I've never been able to have fake sugar without a "heaviness" in my gut and often times an all-out stomach ache. I have stayed away from fake sugar my whole life because of that but I am trying to cut real sugar in my life so I did some research again. I like that this is one of the only "whole food" fake sugars out there. Definitely pricey so I was a bit nervous to buy! But I'm glad I did because it's the healthy alternative I was looking for.I mainly got it to sweeten my tea in the morning but unfortunately I didn't enjoy the taste in my tea (had a slight aftertaste) Honestly the taste was not as bad as all the other fake sugars out there but enough that I'm just going to stick with my honey for my tea sweetner. =) BUT on almost everything else I tried it was a great alternative. I'll add it to oatmeal or my plain cereals.I love the cinnamon and "sugar" toast I make with it. Adding a bit to a smoothie is good if you want to sweeten it. Or I even made lemonade with 1/2 real sugar and 1/2 of this which tasted great! So glad I found an alternative that is a whole food and doesn't hurt my tummy.

Leaves an unpleasant very long-lasting sweetness on the tongue
I loved the idea of this natural sweetner but I noticed when using it that whatever I was eating didn't seem particularly sweet but instead had a sweet after-taste -- moreso than even the "during-taste". Then I realized that it leaves my tongue tricked into sensing sweet for quite a while after I had finished eating it so that whatever I ate or drank after I finished the produce with Just Like Sugar would have a weird sweetness. I tried it in hot tea as well as baking with this and discovered that it happened after both items. Thinking it was just me, I had my boyfriend eat one of my baked goods with it in there and then drinking a glass of water. He experienced the same thing I did -- the plain water tasted sweetened. Not cool Throwing this stuff out.

Healthy alternative, okay taste
I usually like to sweeten my tea with something other than sugar or honey or agave (they each add their own flavor to the teas) and I usually use a brand of stevia. However, after doing a lot of research I came across this product and it was highly recommended over stevia in many blogs. After using it this morning, I found it actually doesn’t have much of a flavor nor does it sweeten as much as I had hoped. I will try again tonight and just add more and see if that makes a difference. As a side note: I did notice it bubbles a little bit when introduced to the tea and it did not quite dissolve completely.

but when you do it is a rather good product. the finished baked good comes out more ...
This takes some getting used to using, but when you do it is a rather good product. the finished baked good comes out more moist so that might be a problem for some recipes, but in cookies, and brownies and cakes it has not been a problem for me. I have yet to have great success with with my own frostings though using this but if you look at some of the methods in Jane Barthelemys book about paloe desserts using this product you will get some ideas on how to get it to work really great. I think it is a good tool for the bakers tool box but know that you will get carb calories but no calories from sugar. And for those who are not to have sugar like me because of yeast gut issues this can be your best friend. Just be careful about the fiber content as it can take a little adaptation in your body to get used to that. Mine did.

People with chemical sensitivity beware
The positive first-- I actually do think it tastes pretty good. I have avoided sugar for years and as far as substitutes that aren't "artificial" go, this isn't a bad one for taste. However, if you are very sensitive to chemicals, etc, this probably isn't for you. I am one of those super sensitive types--artificial fragrances give me a headache, I am gluten and dairy intolerant, etc. I bought a bag and within a few days I started getting headaches. I thought that was odd-- I have generally figured out what to eat/not eat, use/not use so that despite my chemical sensitivity I can live a reasonably normal life. However, within a week of using this stuff generously on a daily basis, I was having regular, debilitating migraines. I couldn't find anyone else online who had that problem, but eventually I didn't care, I quit using it, and gradually the headaches lessened so that within a few days of not eating this the headaches were gone. I threw the rest of the bag away. It's possible very occasional instead of regular useage would be okay, but nonetheless, those with chemical sensitivity beware.
