The securing straps for this cover are just a few inches short of wrapping around the legs of my patio furniture. Are extension straps available?

Too short for mine also, I use a bungi cord around the outside as it is windy here.

Can I wash this in the machine?

I would not advise washing this in a machine. If you inspect the underside of the cover you will find a plastic liner. This liner could be damaged and become brittle, even in a delicate cycle. I have been advised to use a cool damp rag to clean the cover and it works quite well. Over time the weatherproof coating will diminish. I use a fabric protector to renew the protection. I only use the cover during the spring/summer months with a life expectancy of 2-3 years at most.
