Best volume knob going.
This is a superb bit of kit. Yes it does all of the things it says it does. There are many other audio interfaces that do those same tasks. But what's particularly nice about this one is the volume knob. If youre like me and relentlessly fiddle with your knob. Then you want one that feels good when you touch it. Its this one. Its just so smooth and nice to the touch. This makes it far superior to all others ive used.

Very reasonable, great quality
I'm a fan of M-Audio interfaces, they always sound great. Headphones. First and for most, you'll need a headphone amp to get good sound levels with 250ohm headphones. The device is very slick and shiny looking. The big knob for volume control is really nice and all knobs feel solid and well made. The LED lights are hidden away until you power something which adds to the slickness. The single XLR port is at the back which is very handy because you limit the amount of wires coming from the front. Sound quality is really good and clear sounding and doesn't have any notable self noise. The build quality is metal with a glass looking plastic top. Very decent for the price, especially if you only need one instrument and one mic.

Awesome interface. Absolutely love it and has a great pre-amp considering the price.
I've been able to drive a Shure SM7B no problem with this. Super good quality and a great tool to have. Just want to share a funny story though and it was totally my fault. Not at all to blame to M-Audio - but I got the interface and couldn't hear myself at all. The big dial is the master volume dial and somehow my brain did not process that it even existed. I had spent 6 hours trying to get the interface to work when the master volume dial was equal to 0%. I don't know what I was thinking at the time but felt it was extremely funny to share. I guess it's one of those times where you had to experience the idiocy of it all.

warehouse packaging rubbish
Product fine, but warehouse description as very good packaging maybe damaged is flakey Just an empty box, no holding material rattled around like a pea in a colander No docs or anything Poor first impression

5 years later. Still standing.
5 years of hard use and still working like new. Connects easy to windows 11 using fl studio. Audio quality is fair for the price. Size is a little on the big size but other than it easily scratching, no issues.

Amazing quality!
Great interface, sound quality is pristine and very decent controls. Build quality is mostly metal and feels great. It can do up to 192kHz recording but that's honestly too much for a beginner and many laptops can't even have the power to handle that quality so I use around 96kHz, even then its amazing.

Ok until it goes wrong
The quality seems quite good at first - sturdy construction and good quality feeling dials (I would probably give it 3 stars as loading the drivers was not that easy, and it seems to be a bit hit and miss working with Audacity). However, after 5 or 6 months or so, my unit started distorting my voice. No problem- just contact their support people? I would love to! Their support process seems to be to let me raise a ticket, then not answer, other than to give me notifications that say my ticket is being auto closed. ------- Update - put from 1 star back to 3 I finally got someone to answer my emails, and from that point they were very helpful and the item was returned via Amazon for a full refund. Did I buy a replacement from the same manufacturer? No. I need something that runs with Audacity without any issues, and is easy to set up.

Amazing product! Absolutely worth every penny.

Raccomandata

I bought this interface in January 2021. I have used it for for guitars plugged directly into the interface, and I have used it with Shure SM57 and SM58 microphones. I have been very happy with the sound quality, the ease of use, the reliability, and pretty much everything else about this interface. I have moved it all over my house and taken a few places in my backpack with no problems. I bought this interface because I wanted something that would be easy to adjust while playing a guitar or keys in low lighting. The Air interface has a giant knob to control the monitor volume, and the input knobs are easy to see and far enough apart that I can grab one without bumping the other. Everything is very spread out, and I can do what I need to do without thinking too much about the interface. I am going to upgrade to an interface with two mic inputs in the next few months. I have looked at the Air 192|6, which has two mic inputs, but am still undecided. I have been happy with the 192|4, but the new Focusrite 2i2 has some cool features and the UA Volt comes with a lot of good plugins. The Air interfaces come with some nice plugins, but they are the same ones you get for free with pretty much every other MIDI controller: MPC Beats (always free), Ableton Live Lite, Mini Grand, DB33, etc. I'd be way more excited if their interfaces came with a choice of a free plugin, because Air makes a lot of amazing effects and instruments. On a side note, if you a just getting into music production and MIDI controllers, I can't recommend Ableton Live Lite enough. It's a great choice for newbies, because there are so many how-to videos on YouTube. TLDR: this a very solid interface that does everything well
