Audio Fox Wireless TV Speakers - Gray

This is the fourth pair we have bought just to keep everyone happy. One pair went to Washington, one to Oregon and two in Calif. When our elderly mother is visiting the Audio Fox helps keep everyone happy with the sound level of the TV and mother can hear all her programs. We keep one pair in the Family room so if anyone is watching TV at night the TV sound can be turned off and the Audio Fox speakers are the only sound on. People can sleep and the TV watcher is happy with just the right amount of volume.

This was a gift for my father in law. A year later my wife goes to visit them and finds out that it did not work (her parents are too timid/polite to tell me it did not work (nor did they have the initiative to return it). I say 2 stars since I am allowing the possibility that it does work and they were too stupid to make it work (they are farmers, not doctors). I did not visit so I cannot say If it is broken or not. In any event, neither they nor their friends could get it to work.

Dad is VERY hard of hearing and he's used to keeping his TV's volume at 100. I could hear it, easily, from the driveway when I pulled in. Well, now that he's moved to an assisted living situation keeping the TV like that just wasn't an option. The staff set him up with closed captioning but I knew he couldn't see to read it at all. Enter these speakers. They work and the volume can be really LOUD! Like.... Dad was surprised how loud I could make them. I set them up very quickly using the optical connection on his TV (the analog didn't seem to work without tweaking). The volume of the speakers stays the same when the TV is turned off and on and the TV volume can be set really low (I didn't try mute). I think the volume controls are a little too difficult for my Dad to work so I just found a setting I thought he'd like and left them at that. Some people complained that the speakers could fall off the recliner and break so, to stop this, I sewed a couple of straps with snaps onto the recliner cover. The straps hold the speakers in place and the snaps mean that they can be easily removed if the cover needs to be cleaned. Yes. These things are extremely expensive for what they are but, ya know what? They work. And there aren't a lot of other choices out there that do what these things do. No one wants to wear headphones all the time while they're watching TV. Just spring for the money and buy these. Take good care of them. Protect them from falling and let your elderly parent enjoy watching TV without blasting everyone else in the house!

The speakers are wonderful. Peace reigns in the house. Their sound quality is great. I will warn you that if your tv has no "audio out" you'll have to buy a little box that fixes the problem--about $10. After getting that, it was dead easy to install and works like a charm.

Where do I start? Like other reviews have stated they look cheap but what is most annoying is that at random times they stop working!!!!! I set this up for my grandmother and I lost count of how many times she’s called me to let me know they stopped working. I’ve never hated a product so much in my life! I desperately wish to return them and never see them again!!!!

Worked great for a month, then they quit working. Tried them again, just in case we had a loss wire or it wasn't plugged in all the way, they started working just to stop a week later. Now i can't return them for a refund. The good news is that audio fox will fix them or replace them. Bad news, Our first pair was purchased 3 years ago and had to replaced or fixed several times before they died and that was after the 1 year manufacturer's warranty. Not to worry, i bought the insurance/warranty. I sent them back and the pair i have now are the placements i bought with the amazon gift card for my refund. Next time i buy straight from Audio fox.

about this for my 93-year-old mother who has hearing issues and even with a hearing aid had a hard time with the television. These are a lifesaver and she loves them. no more worries about blowing the speakers out on the television or her making it so loud the rest of us can't stand it. Only negative is that the volume button is a hassle being attached to the headset and is a tiny bit confusing.

I purchased these volume enhancers with the hopes that they would give my partner a better experience when listening to his shows but all we got was disappointing silence!
