I loved these short stories they could have been whole books and I would have loved them but thankful we got this little glimpse especially w/ max & ash ❤️ loved Marty & luce more than I thought I would!

Summary: A collection of three novellas about some of the side characters from the Fake Boyfriends books: Wyatt and Aron from Trick Play, Max and Ash from Deke, and Luce and Marty from Hat Trick.Review: I’m not always a fan of novellas and short stories—they often feel rushed or more telling than showing or like a good outline for a longer story, but these are really well done—especially “Winning You” about Luce and Marty. In all of the stories, the characters feel well rounded and complex, the pacing is just right, the dialogue is good, and the connections between the characters feels real and solid. While I enjoyed all of the characters, I adored Luce and Marty and their chemistry and banter. They were the couple I was most interested in from reading the main books too, so I guess it’s not a surprise that I’d like them best in their own stories too.If you’ve read and enjoyed the Fake Boyfriend series, I highly recommend this collection!

This was such a nice read to have in between the books! I was so excited for learn of Luce and Marty’s relationship. Hands down my favorite couple!

Loved reading these since I already finished the Fake Boyfriend series. Luce/Marty was my favorite! Glad Wyatt and Aron got their HEA. Love Max still not a fan of Ash though

I've read the main fake boyfriend series many times but this is my first time reading these short stories. Absolutely loved them!

This is was a special little extra., featuring some of the secondary characters from The Fake Boyfriend series. It's a sweet quick read, and it was fun to get the HEA for some of the friends and family. Ash and Max- Ollie's brother and ex were my favorite, a good friend to lovers long time wanting. You also get Marty and Luce from Jets' world and Aton and Wyatt from Noah's. Everyone gets HEA.Nice little bonus to that universe.

All three of these stories were nothing short of amazing. I cannot decide which couple I love more. Marty and Luce were completely unexpected but so so great. I cannot wait to see what happens with Jay.

There are three short stories, each written in dual first person POV. None of them have the fake boyfriend trope, but that actually made more sense to me. Each had some fun sexy times (M/M) and a good amount of humor. I think that the author gave just enough backstory so that these could be read as standalone but I think you get more out of them if you’ve read the series first.The first story is Rebound and follows Aron and Wyatt, who are minor characters in book 2 (both are part of the friend circle). Fun story. No crazy angst.The second story is It’s Complicated and follows Ash (Ollie’s ex from book 2) and Max (Ollie’s brother). I almost skipped this one because I didn’t like Ash when I read Ollie’s book and this story didn’t completely help that feeling. It was still an interesting read but had more angst than story one but Max’s family makes up for it.The third story is Winning You and follows Marty and Luce, neither of whom we’ve met before but their story revolves around Jay and his band and apparently Jay is the subject of book 5. I really enjoyed this one and hope that book 5 contains more of Marty’s snark.

4.25/5Un très chouette recueil de 3 novella sur des personnages secondaires qu’on a eu plaisir à rencontrer dans la saga principale !J’ai eu une grosse préférence pour la dernière mais j’ai passé un super moment de lecture dans l’ensemble ! L’écriture d’Eden Finley est toujours aussi afflictive et efficace même dans un format court, c’est dingue ! Et j’aime encore plus quand elle fait des petites références à la pop-culture (Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Retour vers le futur…etc.) !!* Rebound : 4/5Une lecture très sympa qui va à l’essentiel (presque un peu expéditif!) avec une trope Friends to lovers assez prévisible quand on connaît la relation Aron/Wyatt. Et quel plaisir de retrouver Noah même fugacement, sa présence était plus que nécessaire pour clôturer l’arc d’Aron !* It’s complicated : 4/5Trop contente de lire l’histoire de ce couple, notamment après avoir pressenti dans le T3 de la saga principale que Max aimait Ash au-delà de l’amitié haha.J’ai adoré revoir Ollie et Lennon (mon couple préféré EVER) et également voir Jordan avant sa rencontre avec Blake d’Elevé (qui apparaît dans le T4 de la saga Famous) !!Dans l’ensemble cette novella était très chouette mais c’était un peu long aussi. La raison qui empêche Ash et Max d’être ensemble est certes valable mais j’ai trouvé que ça durait un peu trop longtemps étant donné qu’il suffisait de parler à Ollie, qui est plus qu’heureux avec Lennon et qui, bien qu’un peu réticent, n’allait sûrement pas les empêcher d’être ensemble…Mentions spéciales aussi pour le matching tattoo : j’aime bien la raison pour laquelle Ollie souhaite qu’Ash garde le sien! Et pour la famille Strömberg qui est juste tellement drôle et unique !!* Winning you : 4.5/5Clairement ma novella préférée des 3 !! J’avais peur que ce couple ne m’intéresse pas plus que ça et en fait j’ai ADORÉ leur histoire !! Leur rencontre, leur alchimie, l’évolution de leur relation après ce rendez-vous gagné et puis, revoir Jet et savoir comment tout a commencé entre lui et Luce : c’était TROP BIEN !!

I misinterpreted the title of this short story collection, it thought it was about brief vacations. It is so much more and better. The “Breakaways” are the ex-boyfriends of some of the Main Characters in the “Fake Boyfriend” series. Except for one which is about the Manager of the Band “Radioactive”. There are three “Breakaways”.REBOUND - Wyatt & AronAron was a friend with benefits of Noah in Matt & Noah’s story in Fake Boyfriends. Noah called a stop because Aron wanted more and Noah didn’t do relationships. A while later Noah proclaimed in social media that his boyfriend was Matt.Aron meets up with one of their old groups of friends Wyatt who also featured in Noah’s Fake story. After an evening of drinking with Wyatt and visiting a Gay bar, something sparks between them. Wyatt admits later to have harboured a crush on Aron since High School.ITS COMPLICATED - Max & AshAsh had grown up next door to Max and his five brothers since kindergarten. They were best friends and even shared their dorm in College. Later, they worked together as partners in a Tattooing Parlour. Always supporting each other. Ash has always loved Max but Max is straight. Ollie, Max’s younger brother always followed Ash around when they were kids.When Ash finally realised Max would never be with him he gave up. Ollie showed great interest in Ash and they became boyfriends, secretly, because as an Ice Hockey player, he hid his sexuality, and wasn’t coming out of the closet. After a couple of years Aron left Ollie because he wouldn’t “come out”.Later Ash became engaged to Taylor a wealthy businessman. In the meantime, Max, Ollie’s eldest brother, realises he is bisexual and accepts that he has always had “feelings” for Ash, but he can’t do anything about them because of the “bro code”. This tells the story of how Luce 33, an Australian Music Industry Exec in Melbourne became the new Manager of Jett’s band, Radioactive. Jett and the band were fed up of their American manager Wayne who was inappropriate in his behaviour to Jett, among other faults.At a performance in Melbourne which Luce attends as an Exec of the Music company, he meets Marty a 23 year old Science Student, who is determined to meet his fanboy crush Jett, of Radioactive.Through a series of fateful events that night, both Luce and Marty end up in USA as new Management of the band, hoping it will lead to something more for their blossoming relationship. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I enjoyed reading more about the ex boyfriends of the MC’s in the Fake Boyfriends series. Getting more details of the why’s of broken relationship in each case and how the finally find their “own forever person”.With Luce and Marty we didn’t know much about before as they were background players in the relevant story, neither of them being the ex of the Main Characters. So, I found their own tale more interesting here, there was great banter and snarky comments between Luce and Marty, especially Marty who has no filter apparently. Hilarious at times.I think I have a really soft spot for the Fake Boyfriend trope and I wish there was still more of this series in the pipeline from Eden Finley.

Are the highest peak of the entire series. Don't take me wrong, I love all of these guys. But MASH and LUTY? They're everything.

Just love this series, every single one. It's awesome to read the back stories of characters I wasnt sure I would get to. Thank you for this series Eden.
