American Sign Language for Kids: 101 Easy Signs for Nonverbal Communication

I recently took ASL classes at my library. I bought this book and even though it is geared for kids, it is perfect for me, an adult, as a beginner. Excellent pictures and explanations. Very happy with it. Great quality and price !

I know the title says for children but it’s been a great starter for the whole family. Many tips, points of guidance and reminders of correct positioning and facial expression.

I am currently homeschooling a kindergartener and this has been so fun! We have worked on sign language alot and it's amazing to see this book help not only my child but myself as well. It explains the signs thoroughly and makes it very easy to understand.

Great guide for basic signs but not all signs are same as what therapist is teaching. A good guide for parents though.

These a fabulous books my wife and I have been going through them and trying to teach each other before we even start to work with my grandchildren. The saddest thing is my daughter was upset that we bought these a will not take one home to teach her kids so it may be a slow process only to be tout and grandmas house.

The pictures make it easy to understand and the information included is really awesome. Our little family is all neurodivergent and our little one has some speech struggles. She is really quick with sign language (2.5 yr old) so we have all taken to learning ASL so we can all gain clarity when we communicate day to day. This book is exactly what I was hoping for.

We use this in the car for my kids to learn. They have taught themselves quite a bit from this little book!

I bought this book just because it had a lot of signs and one of my clients is hard of hearing and we are required to sign during session. I had no idea this book was also geared towards children with Autism but I'm so glad that I bought this book! It is so inclusive and detailed and offers tips, similar signs, and guides and practice games! Absolutely an easy to understand book and I highly recommend all RBT's and BCBA's get this book!

My daughter wants to learn ASL. I thought we'd start with this book to see if her curiosity sticks around. It's super cute, it's easy to read/follow, it has relevant content, and it's illustrated nicely. It was definitely a good buy

I struggle with going non-verbal a lot and this book is great for me! I found it fun learning and it really does help when i teach another person who I interact with on a daily basis a few basic signs to help when I go non-verbal. It does help, and it’s amazing! the explanation on how to do the signs are all great and I actually understand what it says. Also the illustrations are very sweet. Each sign has a little mark that says how to remember it by, for example for the sign drink it says “think about drinking out of a cup” ! it makes me remember the signs easier. The numbers are also good! overall 10/10 great for beginner's, and children.

This is a great book for kids to be able to learn a bit about sign language. Signs are demonstrated and explained. My 10 year old granddaughter asked for this as one of her birthday gifts. She was very pleased!

Can't wait to get into this book with my daughter. She is homeschooling and this was her choice for language studies. Impressed with the layout of this book. She is able to flip to any page and learn a new sign. It's marvelous and well thought out. Best purchase on Amazon yet!

I would recommend this book for beginner signers who are family members, children wanting to learn to sign with a peer, childcare providers or members of the community.I gave it a four because some of the explanations are a little long.
