lowrring my rating due yo heat produced while cooling helpe me in a pinch, thank you Honeywell keep streamlining small BTU units
Update 2018: after installing it near a window in the back room I find the unit emits heat which negates the bulk of the cooling effect thus is due to dehumidifying. But it is not fair yo not give people a real explanation of how to deal with this.very confusing.we got this during the past winter, anticipating the central AC units issues of cost and breakdown we see every year. Sure enough we had a ac breakdown in our big central AC unit in March, & set up the little black Honeywell in one afternoon, out if the box. The little Honeywell air conditioned our bedroom and let us sleep like babies! The noise level is low. The on off is digital & easy to read with a temp control, easy to see. It got us through till we could fix the main ac unit. Floruda is having record heat. I plan to use it for spot cooling in other rooms, eventually. I would be interested in a low profile window unit ( one like the new noria ac low profile style unit) in the future, to purchase . I think unit's AC hose is a bit, bulky, not too stylish looking & also a bit confusing what angle the hose works best at. I wish someone would build a 5-6000 BTU room mini split AC unit reasonable with low wattage I'm really tired of what my light bill turns I to every summer I still don't like my set up of the unit. But it's temporary for the emergency we had but it sure came in handy when we needed it! I would buy a Honeywell product again if the can make a streamlined low profile low profile low wattage black or silver unit for a window. I think this unit is pretty compact except for the hose part. I'm looking for something for my RV that can run off a battery or solar. .

It works, but not great for high temps.
This is used in a 12' box popup camper and is sufficient up to outside temps around 90 degrees. It would then cool by no more than 10 degrees. Compact enough to fit under the counter in place of a cabinet i chose to eliminate. This was an alternative to an expensive rooftop install, and once vented correctly works enough for typical michigan summers. Wish i wouldve gotten higher power to knock down the hotter temps a bit better though.EditAfter only 2 years of camping, it is really starting to lose cooling power, i removed some extra hose, which helped, but not enough. Need to shop around for replacement. Most annoying during use is the fact that the blower stays on after the thermostat shuts the compressor off, which means it runs nonstop and is impossible to get any quiet night sleeping. Maybe there is some engineering reason, but seems ridiculous ...Also note the directional flow diverter on the output is basically there for looks. Its going to feel like its blowing straight only.

Very disappointed in this product
I purchased this unit on 6/27, on day 31 I awoke to soaking wet carpet. There is a massive leak in the bottom of the unit. The unit is described as self evaporating but I didn't think they meant leaking out the bottom! According to the manual there is a red alarm light that should come on and the unit is supposed to shut down if the drainage should become an issue. Never happened, just continued to run and no alarm light. We looked at it and even added a drain hose to the back drain to the outside and we experienced large leaks 2 more times. Not to mention that it doesn't cool well at all.I wish I had read these negative reviews before purchasing. Very disappointed and a complete waste of money.

Cools area fast at a cost of size and noise.
What I like about this unit is how fast it can cool down a small space that cannot have a traditional window mounted ac. What I do not like is the obnoxiously large size for such a low amount of BTUs. The stock photos are very deceptive about the actual large amount of space consumed by this unit. The unit is loud and does not auto shut upon reaching a set temperature.

Does not cool room very well
Total garbage won’t cool room more than 5 degrees. Blows coolish airI think it’s a flawed design because Honeywell usually puts out solid products.. not this timeLook Elsewhere

Not sufficient
I'm in a closed 12x12 room and this air conditioner is blowing directly on me and I'm sweating. The room hasn't changed temperature in 2 hours. Finally got my replacement from Honeywell in a beat up used box.

Gets the job done, but it's not a tundra machine.
I bought this to keep my apartment cool in the NYC summer heat. It gets the job done and I never feel like I'm sweating away, but it never gets truly cold. I would only get this if a window unit isn't an option.

Would not recommend. Spend an extra 100 bucks and get something better.
Don't like it, we have a small bedroom, no direct sunlight but this unit still can't seem to keep it cool. It has also developed a very nasty smell.
