Fits
This fuel cap fit the 5 gallon metal “Jerry” cans, the only problem is is that it’s made out of plastic and is prone to splitting. Other than that fit and function are as OE. Just wish it was made in a sturdier material.

Junk plastic spouts
There is a big reason why they have all these cheep plastic gas spouts .... my old metal gas can still going strong.

Poor design, very weak, over priced not reliable
Terrible for $10 as they are very weak at the top circumference where the sealing pressure is applied. You screw it down right enough to prevent the spout from leaking and the next thing you know it's cracked all the way around the top and now it's useless. I've got two of them that are split 180° around the same exact way. I'm trying epoxy putty this time as super glue didn't hold very long the last time I repaired one. I'm trying to find a different design as these are very poorly designed. They need more material in the stress area.

Saves a whole fuel can
I've just about lost track of how many plastic gas cans I've had to throw out because the spout cap failed and I couldn't find a replacement. Was real happy to find this one available for a Midwest Can Co. container that the cap had split on. Another reviewer stated that this cap also worked on a Blitz container but I did not find this to be the case when I tried it on a Blitz can - the threads are a different pitch and even though it would screw on, it wouldn't go down far enough to seal the spout gasket. On the plastic cans I still have, I have changed my mode of operation to prevent further breakage of caps. I now tighten the caps only when I pour fuel from the can, then relax the torque on the cap, backing it off so it is just tight enough for a vapor seal during the long periods of storage.
