A Wind Named Amnesia / Invader Summer Paperback – June 17, 2009

i personally love this book i usually dont like apocalyptic stories but this was great lots of intresting things in this book.

Great stories really! Very poetic, especally Invader Summer. It is great to see some of Kikuchi's earlier works. Not as good as his work with Vampire Hunter D, but still excellent sci-fi reads! And wonderful translation work.

Edit: This is ONLY for A Wind Named AmnesiaI REALLY wanted to like this book. I read the first chapter while I stood in a store, and waited a few months until I could purchase it.The premise was really fascinating, and most of the storyline was great. However, a lot of the dialogue was pretty terrible, and I assume that mostly had to do with translation (I could mostly forgive it). It was also very sexist and that was super annoying. There were obviously weaker characters (just like in real life) but I hate when an author can't see men & women as both having the capacity to be strong.I almost gave it one star, but the premise hooked me and the storyline carried on just enough that I wanted to know what happened to the characters. I also waited so long to purchase it that I wanted my money's worth. I wouldn't recommend it.

One of my all time favorite fiction novels. Especially the second story, Invader Summer.

This book was not as good as i expected it to be and it is much more expensive than any other light novels on this website.Delivery took a considerable long time and the state of the book wasn't the best either.The content within the book is not the best as dialog is often confusing and misinterpreted and the ending is too open ended

Having been a huge fan of the Vampire Hunter D series, i thought i would give this a go.The first story 'A wind named Amnesia' pulled me in straight away and i didnt want to put it down. It is wonderfully written, captivating and you find yourself wanting to know what happens to its hero.The second 'Invader Summer' is still a brilliant written peice but i found it a little harder to get into.Overall, a wonderful purchase for any Hideyuki fan, and beautifully illustrated by the amazing Yoshitaka Amano,

Such a good book. Recommend to watch the anime *wind named amnesia* also...
