Had been looking for a simple solution to watching old VHS tapes on my tv when I came across this. Simple to set up & picture quality is good considering its old tapes I am watching. Only thing not highlighted at time of purchase is you also need a hdmi cable, not an issue for me as I had a spare one.

This delivery was very quickly with me and enabled me to use my dvd player.

This works well. Only slight hitch is needing a usb power supply (socket) to plug it into which I didn't realise. Might be an issue depending on how many usb ports your TV has and what else you may need to connect to.

Got a new Panasonic TV for the in-laws but it did not have a SCART socket so was unable to connect their old Sony DVD player to it. This product was so easy to install - DVD player to SCART, SCART to eSynic, eSynic to HDMI, HDMI to TV. Then plug the power cable provided in to the eSynic and the other end in to one of your USB ports on the back of the TV and that’s it!! I left the switch on 720p as that’s perfect for DVDs. As my in-laws watch a lot of old movies switching it to 1080p (HD) would have been overkill, and might have made the picture quality worse due to the age of the films, so I kept it simple. Whilst the product I bought came with a SCART cable included, it does not come with an HDMI cable so remember to grab one of these. Highly recommend!

Good gadget, does the job, but didn’t come with a plug so to charge it you need a USB compatible device. Not easy when you’re converting a new TV to an old piece of equipment for an elderly lady.

Spent a fair time setting this up so that we could watch some family photo albums downloaded onto DVD’s. The DVD player was older, but good quality (Sony) and never really used - it only had scary connectors, so needed an adapter.After a few hours of trying to get it to play, we gave up. The tv detected the DVD player, but wouldn’t receive any pictures. Gave up and went to Richer Sounds who told me that they won’t sell this kind of adapter because they are so hit and miss - they simply don’t work well with modern smart televisions. In the end, I bought a cheap blue ray player which connected instantly and provides an excellent picture.

works as discribed good picture easy to use . inclusion of a hdmi cable would be usefull for the sake of a couple of quid

Found some old tapes and a VHS player in the attic but needed to convert SCART to HDMI for a modern TV so bought this device. It worked perfectly although I thought I might have stumbled across some good old vintage porn films from my youth, turns out it was our wedding videos, so that was disappointing!!!
