Toaster looks and works great
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is a great toaster. It looks modern and works very well. It was worth the money.

Great toaster functionally and visually
The toaster works very well, the slots are nice and wide to easily toast bagels or thick bread. It is simple to operate. The first toast cycle does give off a slight odor, but that's the end of it. I love the look of the appliance with the copper accents. I recently bought a coffee station from Amazon with copper accents and now my counter space has an upscale look.

Solid well made toaster.
I am so happy with this toaster! It is well made, although it’s a disappointment that they originated in England, but manufactured in China. It is almost next to impossible to find any small kitchen appliance made in the USA. I do know that KitchenAid is made in the USA, so when I replace my blender it will be a costly KitchenAid blender.I also bought the matching electric kettle and it’s as well made as the toaster. The toaster browns evenly and fast. It is a retro classic style which goes with most decor.Haden has a great reputation for its quality and value.

Looks Aren't Everything
This was the most beautiful toaster I ever saw. But I'm breaking up with it.At originally $126, and even on sale at $90, this attractive hunk of plastic and metal just isn't worth it, because of three faults.First, it has imposter issues; it doesn't toast. Or it doesn't even do it adequately. Using commercially made white country bread, I put a slice in each of the end slots, and set the toast dial to 4 (out of 6). Each slice had a dark side and a barely toasted side. After letting the toaster cool back down to cold (as when I would first use it), I inserted a bagel in the right two slots, cut edges facing out as the manual instructed, set the dial to 3, pushed the lever down, and hit the bagel button. The bagels came up with the cut sides kind of crispy, but not toasted. I pushed the lever down again and hit the bagel button, setting still on 3. In 2 minutes, I pushed the cancel button, and the bagel popped up properly done. I let the toaster go cold once again. Then I put a sourdough English muffin into the same slots as the toast (two end slots) and cranked up the dial to 6 (11, if you're a Twisted Sister fan). Both pieces of the muffin came up crisp but untoasted. Once more, they went down into their slots to toast, still on the maximum setting of 6. Smelling something burning, after two minutes, I pressed the cancel button. The muffins were properly done on the cut side but a bit overly toasted on the other surface. This was all a lot of trouble to just get anywhere CLOSE to a proper toasting.Second, the settings dials are poorly designed for ergonomics. The left one was difficult to rotate (heavy resistance); the right was perfect. As noted with other reviewers, the numbers on the dials are so small that they are very difficult to read, and the indicator notch isn't very discernible.Third, also detailed by other reviewers, the entire toaster is unbalanced. Even knowing this, I had to be extremely careful in pushing both levers down simultaneously or had to push one at a time to avoid tipping over the toaster in front. Simple fix: add a small counterweight on the backside.I can probably forgive the second and third shortcomings, since I can just get used to those quirks. But, c'mon...If it's not going to live up to its title of "toaster," then why should I buy this thing? Sigh, I'm boxing up and returning this poser.
