Nice Guitar!
As far as controllers go, I gotta admit... I was impressed! It was either going to be an awesome buy or one of the worst buys that I've made - and I'm glad it was the first.Size-wise, it's taller than any of the Rock Band or Guitar Hero controllers we have; a little shy of the length of a real guitar. But it is DEFINATELY made better - meaning this thing is made with better materials and could take some abuse. I was always affraid to "let loose" on the original controllers; but not this controller. Not that I am the abusive-to-controllers type! Buttons-wise, it is laid out more like a Guitar Hero controller. The strum is more accurate than the originals, but does not have the solo buttons or slide neck that the Rock Band and Guitar Hero controllers do, but I don't miss them. The only thing that takes a little getting used to is the axe blade on the bottom - digs into the leg if not held right while sitting down. I know, real rock gods do not sit while playing! But after a long day on my feet, I don't fee like standing while playing. One complaint I do have; the ad is not very specific as to which game versions it is compatible for. I know anything after Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero 3 you are OK. But I realy don't have anything bad to say about the guitar controller itself! Now I gotta admit, I have been a fan of KISS for over 30 years and I may be a little biased; but I honestly think a fan of KISS and Wii music games would love this controller! And if you are not a fan of KISS but want a high quality, upgraded controller for your Wii music games, this is it!!

what a great bass for wii rockband 2
i dont usaly leave reviews but after reading the previous reviwes on the bass i felt compeled to leave one of my own. this bass for wii rockband 2 is amazing. i found it to be easyer to use and more responsive than the guitar that comes with the rockband 2 kit. the controler that you put in t0 the body of the base is kind of odd looking but just get a black controler from a knock off wii compainy as i did or wait till xmas and get the officail black controler and it will not only look great but it will play great too. in a word this guitar/bass is amazing!

A novelty item, and that's about it.
I had unintentionally ruined my Rock Band Wii guitars with a spilled soda incident some time ago, so I was looking for a replacement. I saw the Gene Simmon's guitar and thought "whoa, doesn't look as lame", and I figured I'd get the mileage out of it since I enjoy replaying Rock Band songs during my free time.First thing I noticed when I opened the box is that it was obviously a return. The cover was ripped in several places where original tape had been to keep the box securely shut. I shrugged, opened it up anyway, and took it out of the box.The guitar was extremely cheaply made. The plastic is very flimsy, especially compared to the Gibson wireless guitar that came with Guitar Hero 3. The fret buttons aren't properly fastened to the guitar neck, or something, as they like to wiggle back and forth a lot. The strum bar does click loudly, similar to the Gibson guitar, but the fret buttons click loudly as well, which is new to me and rather undesirable. Next, the strum bar is located very high on the guitar, so you have to adjust the strap some so your hand is positioned towards the top rather than towards the middle of the guitar. However, the whammy bar doesn't compensate for this; it's positioned further down than where the palm of your hand would rest. Likewise the +/- buttons are too, so if you have an older wii-mote that doesn't pick up on moving the guitar upwards to activate overdrive, you'll have to reach way down there to hit it.Other complaints include:- The knobs for the guitar strap are positioned poorly. There is one to the back of the guitar and one on top of the guitar, and there is not one located on the neck of the guitar. What will happen is as you play, the knob on top will stop supporting the guitar strap. This isn't a gradual thing. It dropped the guitar before I made it passed the title screen. I used electrical tape to make the knob head bigger to keep the guitar strap on.- There are no smaller fret buttons for soloing. You're stuck using the frets that feel like they're ready to fall off.- Previous reviews said the guitar seems bigger. It is not any bigger than the Gibson.- And of course, Gene Simmon's goofy face that needs to be sharpie'd out.I was pretty disappointed with it overall. Actually, I'd rather use the Fender Stratocoaster (which came with Rock Band 2) instead, and I hate the feel of the strum bar and fret buttons on that even more so. Luckily, I had picked up Rock Band 3 waiting on delivery and I'm very much interested in playing Pro mode, so this thing will end up becoming what it always should have been: wall decor!

Not as expected
We bought this for to use with our Rock Band games however, it didn't work for all of the different Rock Band games. The looks of it is pretty cool. My 14 year old daughter loved it. It just is big and harder to play than the guitar that comes with Guitar Hero. I actually wouldn't recommend it unless you want it more for the looks. The Guitar Hero guitar is much easier to use and more comfortable.

Why No GH KISS???
I purchased this Gene Simmons Axe Guitar (actually modeled after Gene's bass) together with GH Metallica and it works great with my Wii. Hope I look like less of a tool playing with this "guitar" since it's 3/4 scale vice most which are 1/2 scale or smaller. Probably not. Only complaint I have is the Gene Simmons face painted on the surface. Wish it was a sticker, but I got a sharpie :)

Very pleased.
This was in mint condition and received in a very timely manner. My son used it for his Gene Simmons costume and also loves playing the game. Very pleased.
