CRAFTSMAN Shallow Socket, SAE, 1/2-Inch Drive, 3/8-Inch, 12-Point (CMMT47500)

It’s a craftsman socket - still a lifetime guarantee & delivered quickly by amazon for a reasonable price.i purchased to remove heating elements out of an electric water heater (worked great). The later realized same size needed for hub retaining nit on a tandem axle trailer (worked great here too)

I needed this size for a slightly off size water heater element. My water heater Element had a slightly off size. It was a little larger than a regular element. I figured with the More than the regular points, it would fit more easily. I was right. It worked great! Plus craftsman is a great value. If anything ever doesn’t work or if it breaks they will replace it

I usually don’t buy craftsman but it was the only socket I could find in this size. I was impressed by the quality of the socket. It’s sturdy, well built and got the job done!

First off it's a Craftsman ( Not Chinese junk) and another addition to my tools. I needed a proper socket to remove and replace the heating elements from my water heater. Using channel locks or slip joint pliers won't work. This socket fit, worked and the R&R was a breeze.

had let someone borrow my impact sockets. ok so the half inch drive 3/4 MAC probably wasn't designed to use on lug nuts and it split into 3 pieces. bought this to replace that one. and again not designed to take lug nuts off but it didn't split into any pieces it just did its job.

You know how it is with 'specialty' tools; they're needed for a singular project. Maybe another in 5-10 years. Well, this socket worked great for torquing down the real axle bolt on my Honda motorcycle. I'll probably need it again.

The socket came with a chrome metal flake in one side. This was clearly a damaged part. I remove it with a knife because I fear that the exposed flake can cut my hand. A non chromed bite resulted from the removal.

Item was as advertised and came in early. Bought to replace heater element. However didn't work due to beveled edge on socket which didn't grab enough of heater element nut. Ended up buying a specialty 6-point element socket which did the job perfectly. Need to get the right tool for the right job. However, the socket by itself is a great tool and value.

This size is really hard to find locally at a good price. I used it with my torque wrench to attach my 2 inch ball for my trailer. Torqued it to 250 lbs. Worked great

Nothing to dislike. I will use it to loosen a hex bolt to set the altitude on my telescope mount. Waiting for the crescent/ closed wrench to arrive later today.

My dad had his socket set since 1957. Never lost a piece until my son misplaced this socket in 2020. Craftsman tools are consistent and reliable. Fit in the case with all the others, only thing is ... it is still very shiny!
