A great read, plenty of examples and repetition to concrete main points of each chapter. Just what i was looking for

I am a student nearing completion of the author's project management certificate program offered via UC Berkeley Extension. Kendrick's text is the best one I've read thus far in my coursework. Clear and well written, it's easy to grasp the concepts drawn from Kendrick's hands on project management experience. While project management scopes, schedules and plans resources to achieve project requirements, Kendrick makes clear the essence of successful project management is having the agility to properly assess and respond to the risks and opportunities inherent in all projects and particularly complex, long duration technology projects.

This is a very good book if you are serious about managing risks on projects. Lots of reading, it's a big book. Definitely not on the order of "Risk Management for Dummies" simplicity. The end of chapter stories using the Panama Canal to reinforce points was the one drawback. There have to be more modern and relevant projects to use to reinforce the concepts better.

Kendrick does a great job of making project risk interesting. I have read many other books on the topic and can safely say this one is one of the better ones. There are many references to real scenarios and up to date examples. Decent documentation on the PERIL database as well.

Its a textbook. Referenced it a lot for class, but didn't exactly use it for light enjoyable reading.

As a university faculty member, I am using this book as the primary text for my undgraduate course in risk management. I have found it to be comprehensive, current, and readily understandable by my students. Many of them have commented that they will be holding on to the book as part of their professional library.

Very complete, well structured, easy to follow and understand. This is not a simple topic and can be overdone, but in spite of being a bit academic at times, is well covered in this book.

Possibly the most comprehensive/exhaustive book on project risk management. Tom has a way of unearthing hidden perspectives, giving rise to many 'aha' moments. His sense of humor is evident throughout the text. On a number of occasions I caught myself chuckling out loud, certainly not expected when reading on a typically dry topic. I highly recommend.

If you are new to risk management then this is a superb book for you. It is very comprehensive and the case study of the Panama Canal that runs through the book is very interesting. However, if you are a bit long in the tooth and been around project management for a while then you will find nothing new in here. I found myself skipping through large sections because previously in my career I had been taught the theory before. I guess this is not the author's fault, it's the nature of risk management: there are no silver bullets.

Its good book for understanding Risk Management in day to day Projects. Author has used very quality database to write this book through this we can easily correlate with our daily routine projects.

I'd give it a higher rating if it actually arrived. Its now late and my online class has started. I'm sure its a beautiful book and it looks pretty and shiney in the pictures, I haven't however received it.
