The Big Book of Irish Songs: 100 Songs + Chord charts for Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, Banjo, Dulcimer and Merlin

This book had a nice collection of popular Irish songs. Since I play trumpet, I found the larger print helpful as I wrote in notes to help me transpose the music. This book was the source for the Irish songs our group played to entertain RV park residents at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day socially distance gathering around the swimming pool.

I received this book as a gift. I love that it has songs in several keys. I do not have an instrument listed but instead one very similar to the Merlin (I have a Woodrow). I found the tuning, strumming, and picking information to also be very useful.

This is a great book with simply written tunes.Some of them I know. Some are quite tricky to play if you are a novice player but you will get there. It depends what instrument you have, I play the accordion and find the music great with that unmistakable Irish sound. In short you will have hours of fun playing this music.

A wonderful collection of Irish music! I have enjoyed dipping it to it. However you will need a low G ukulele for many of the songs. A good excuse to buy a second ukulele!
