This skirt definitely runs small so size up! I'm honestly not sure if this skirt is supposed to be for adults or children because I ordered a medium (I am 5'5, about 130 pounds) and it was pretty small around the waist. I wish it was more clear whether the sizing was for adults or children because that would help us customers make sizing decisions!

I bought this for my 9-year-old who is in ballet. She is a big kid already and in 10/12 clothing and a size 6/7 shoe. I made sure to take multiple measurements and shopping around Amazon looking at different brands. I ended up going with an adult small rather than a child's large and I am happy with it. It fits her nicely with room to grow.She has only worn it to class for a couple of weeks so I can't speak to the wear-and-tear part, but so far the stitching seems good, and it arrived with no holes or frays in the material.

It has held up very well with 4-6 days of use for the past couple months. Best part it cost a fraction of what the name brand dance wear cost.
