This book was so helpful for prepping my 3 year old for his dentist appointment.

This book did a great job helping prepare both of my kids when they were 2 and 3 for their first real dental cleaning. The 2 year old even brought the book to school for show and tell as her favorite book. Both kids let the dentist do the full cleaning on them when I thought there was no way it would work for my 2 year old who normally screams through drs visits. Maybe I need to get the drs visit book next!

My daughter loves all of her little Daniel Tiger books. This helped prepare her for her first dentist appointment, which went pretty well. She is shy and can be clingy around strangers. We prepared her with this book and had my husband go back with her instead of me since I am the one she clings to most and it worked very well.

Purchased for first dentist visit for 3 year old who really enjoys Daniel Tiger. Read daily for the week leading up to the visit. By the time the day came she was calm AND excited! Thank you, Daniel Tiger! It is important to note a few elements were missing that are common in dentist visits. FIrst, the dentist (Dr. Plat) did the entire checkup rather than an assistant/hygenist then the dentist coming in. Second, the chair was not lowered nor a bright light turned on (or sunglasses given to Daniel, which our dentist did). Third, there was no mention of flossing, which is a common part of the exam. Fourth, x-rays and flouride were not mentioned (which we were okay with because we opted not to do either). Overall, this is a great starting point for communication about the dentist and we were pleased. It just requires additional conversations about what else to expect.

This is a great social story to get your toddler and preschool aged children ready for the dentist and remind them what it’s like before each appointment. This book makes the dentist a little less scary for young kids.

Wow! Thank you so much Daniel Tiger! My son is 3 and had his first dentist appointment the first week of may. It went terribly. I was dreading going to get the second opinion done at another dentist because the first one just went so poorly and my son was so uncomfortable and anxious. So I bought him this book and we read it a lot in the days leading up to the second opinion and when the time came, he climbed up in the dentist chair and I told him to “be like Daniel” and it calmed him down. And when the dentist said “say ahh!” I told my son to do his “quiet roar” and he did and y’all it just went so smooth!! He did so great!! Thank you Daniel!! Now I’m hoping for the same thing with the hair cutting book I just got! Come on Daniel work your magic!

Absolutely a great book for prepping your toddler for the dentist! My daughter loved reading it and started playing dentist. During her first trip to the dentist she sat nicely and let the dentist check her teeth and was so proud to be there.Would recommended over and over!
