These looked impressive, and I was excited to add them to my tool collection. I'm a car audio guy by trade, and have been installing mat since it's advent, back in the asphalt-based material days. I've probably installed a thousand square feet of mat, if I were to guess, possibly double that if I really think about it.The issue I had with these rollers is that the wheel is off-center, so you can't really apply pressure during use since it wants to twist and you then have to also apply a twisting motion to offset that. I don't really want to employ the added effort required. The traditional rollers are centered, and you can apply pressure with only downward force required, they don't try to twist like these do.Also, the small wheel at one end-I thought that would really be helpful in the narrower grooves of some steel panels when applying mat-but this is a hard plastic wheel with a pretty sharp edge-so it instead wants to stress and even split the damping mat instead of pushing it down into grooves. I'd thought it would be rubber or some softer material-not a hard plastic. Couldn't get any benefit out of that at all. It is centered though!Anyways, returning both of these, kinda bummed...
