VIVOSUN 4 Inch Air Carbon Filter Odor Control with Australia Virgin Charcoal for Inline Fan, Grow Tent Odor Scrubber, Pre-Filter Included, Reversible Flange 4" x 14"

I just finished the first grow after buying this filter. I use it with a 190 cfm blower fan from iPower in a 3x3x6 tent growing 4 extremely stinky plants. It scrubbed the smell extremely well and left no trace of what was inside the tent even when pointing the exhaust hose directly in your face. However, when I took the fan and filter down, I noticed the blower fan sounded like there were a bunch of rocks rattling around inside. Well, that's exactly what it was; the little pieces of carbon from the filter got sucked into the fan and I had to shake them all out of there. Luckily, it didn't damage the fan but it sure seems like it has the potential to damage the blower fan. I might put a piece of nylon stocking where the flex hose attaches to the fan to catch any other loose pieces of carbon that may come loose.

Alot of these review are on the fan + filter combo. Being honest i went with a different companies fan per cfm needed, so review is just for the filter. This is a fantastic filter, lot of bogus reviews on a lot of these products. No bs, this filter is incredible. 5 plants, 4x4x6.5 tent, zero smell. I mean ZERO. Whole experience as a whole is worth this review.

I've been running this filter 24/7 for two months. It worked okay at first. The pre filter is nice with sewn in eleastic, nicer than others I've seen. Airflow got cut considerably (maybe 20-30%), but still usable. Smell was reduced by about 90%. The smell was harder to detect but still there. Ended up using my hepa air purifier to scrub the remaining.Now two months later and it's getting maybe 50% if you cross your fingers. The poor hepa can't work fast enough to scrub what this filter misses.If you don't need to remove "heavy" odors then this might work.If it's critical that ALL smell is removed then look elsewhere. Can-filter, Phresh, Mountain air, etc... Spend the extra money and have peace of mind.

Worked great for two months. Stopped working! Very short life! Don’t waste your money! This was just filtering the air to my reptile room which isn’t an extreme job. The humidity isn’t high either! Just a poor quality filter, you get what you pay for. My phresh filter lasted two and half years.They offered me a refund and stood Bhond their product maybe I got a faulty can, might try it again in the future.

Item (since page has multiple): Inline fanI got this fan for a laser cutter to vent fumes. It fit the specs that I need and the fan by self works REALLY good.(minus 1/2 star) The lack of sealing on the casement meant I had to do extra work as smoke was entering the room from the fan, not tubing. Several pieces of tape later it's sealed (junction box was leaking as well) around the seam of the fan.(minus 1/2 star) Secondary problem was balance. It needed a a counter weight on the hub to make it smooth and not hum the house. Luckily there are a ring of holes on the hub where a small machine screw can be securely placed which solved this problem. I suspect this would have resulted in a breakdown of the bearings if left untouched aside from a new added house noise during operation.As always I look deep into the structure and build quality. The fan by self is in a metal casement of standard gauge which will hold up quite well. There's a few features I like: There's a counter/stabilizer air output which keeps the swirling down (better air flow) and the hub is made out of all metal while blades are what seems to be a quality plastic. The hub seems to be cast aluminum with a steel disk attached, so I don't expect this thing to breakdown anytime soon or fly apart from spinning so fast like all-plastic hubs at same CFM rating.Wire work is what I'd expect, nothing alarming that showed when opening the case and had all the proper items/placement that should comply with electrical codes (not overly stuffed, strain relief points, good junctions).The base/feet is a solid structure but holes seem to be meant for hanging of unit. For surface mounting you must put screws in sideways as the fan is overhanging the holes for mounting. Not really a problem, more of an annoyance to me.

I hate writing reviews and this is only my 3rd or 4th but I had to let people know how well this works. I have a simple setup with a grow tent and put this unit inside my tent and used it to suck up air in my tent and blow it out. Amazing. My wife use to come to me and bitch and complain that it stunk too much in the garage but it stopped as soon as I got this baby girl. Of course, I had to ask her if she smelt anything in the garage and she said no and thats when I decided to write a review :)

I used this to reduce noise for some Bitcoin miners, specifically the Antminer S9. I had some Antminers in an outdoor shed, and they were ventilating directly into my carport. Unfortunately this created a large amount of noise and I got worried the neighbors would start to get upset. I bought some of these, as well as the plastic 120 mm fan duct cooling shroud to 4 inch vent hose adapters, and then hooked them together with some 4 inch steel duct clamps and dryer hoses.The reduction in noise was amazing. It also changes the sound profile, as it goes from being an awful whining noise to a gentle swooshing sound, like a heavy wind. The only drawback is that it raises the chip temperatures on the Antminers by about 5 degrees Celsius, so if you are already close to max temperatures I wouldn't recommend doing this approach.

This carbon scrubber is perfect. It sits right on top of my inline fan by vivosun that sits on top of The Growing Rack and filters all the odors out of my grow space. With the cover on The Growing Rack there’s absolutely no smell at all in the room it’s in. Without it my entire house stinks. Couldn’t be happier.
