2-Drawer Lateral File Cabinet, Black

This cabinet is awesome! It looks great in my office area and is very easy to assemble. It took me about 20 minutes to put it together. It's sturdy and and made of decent quality materials. Although the box was damaged upon arrival the contents were pristine. No dents and no scratches. I was hoping that the files would hang sideways so I could fit more folders in there but they do not. They face forward like traditional cabinets (2nd photo). On the plus side it can be configured to hang both legal and standard sized documents (3rd photo).

It has a lot of preassembly. No issues, just took time to put together. Not for the faint of heart. Took a couple hrs to get it finished. It looks nice and works fine. You definitely need to use the assembly instructions and double check your work. Had to redo a couple steps when I assembled parts the wrong way.

Nice looking seems sturdy enough. Not hard to assemble but it takes a long time.

I wasn't sure when I read the reviews and all the issues people had with assembly. Yes it has a lot of hardware but it's worth it. The unit is well built, looks great, and is a great value considering a single 2 drawer cabinet would cost what this does or more. I also like the versatility of being able to convert the drawers between legal and standard. Overall a great product that is well worth the money.

This looks great and is perfect for office counter space. The inside is easily bent and doesn't allow the hangers to stay in the slots resulting in the files falling constantly.

Unless you are a carpenter or have assembled this exact file drawer before or hold a PHD in engineering, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! The instructions are more than confusing ... they are contradictory. For example, the instructions on the inside front cover say to install dowels into the edges of panels ... which panels (there are only 18 different panels)? ... which dowels? ... (three are only 34 individual dowels). The first page of the Assembly Instructions say to insert dowels: is this not a duplication or a contradiction statement from the inside cover's instruction set? Finally, I saw nowhere, before purchasing this product, that I had the responsibility of assembling it.If I could rate this as a negative star I would but I can not. Therefore, the best I can do is to give this product a one star rating with an emphatical DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Love this file cabinet! Took me 2 hours to put together by myself, the instructions were the most detailed I've seen and I've put several pieces like this together. Drawers glide easily, the entire piece is symmetrical (which isn't always the case!), packaging was well thought out, and it arrived on time. Very happy with this purchase, worth every affordable cent. Five stars.

We had no issues with the assembly and it's not bad looking. It is crappy press board.That said, the file hanging system is a disaster to say the least.The metal bars that hold the files continually fall out of their slots and the entire system collapses. It was happening almost every time I open and/or closed the drawers. Requiring removal of all your files to put it back together.I finally had to glue the bars into the slots with construction adhesive. So far that has resolved the issue.Not recommended.
