Hustlers [DVD]

It's not like Strip Tease or Show Girls. It's a modernized "chick flick" with the focus of the story being on female friendship. The women are strong, independent female characters who form close friendships. It's the classic story of average/ struggling people who figure out a get rich quick scheme. They live high in the sky rolling in money for awhile until, like it always does with this story line, it ends. However, the end isn't totally predictable or disappointing. As with the movie Casino & Wolf of Wall Street (2 of my favorite movies with this plot line) it is based on a true story. Following the movie I encourage you to look up the extensive interview piece that the movie is based on. The movie is fairly accurate & fairly recently happened. It's a fun movie to watch with your girls.I vaguely remember some of the mild hype created around this movie just prior to COVID in late 2019 I think. I had wanted to see it & then 2020 happened & I 100% forgot about it. Then it came on cable TV one night & I thought, Oh! I remember hearing about this movie! I was watching it censored with commercials on cable for about 15 minutes & decided to hop on Amazon prime & buy it! I hadn't seen it & wanted to see it unedited for content & without commercials. I'm glad I did! It's an enjoyable movie. Though I wouldn't let kids be in the room of course. I mean, there is exotic dancing, & drugs are part of the story, as well as the majority of the clientele who go to the club are Wall Street stock brokers so... There is some vulgarity. The movie is geared towards a female audience though. So, it's not a movie about stripping with a weak generic plot line like a step up from soft core porn. It's a movie about women teaming up & doing something illegal but justifying it as getting even with the men of Wall Street who were primarily responsible for the recession of the 2000's; & taking the audience along for the ride as they do it.

Hustlers is a movie about a group of strippers who drug their clients (mostly wealthy wall street types) and run up their credit cards. It stars Jennifer Lopez, as Romona, the ringleader of the crew and Constance Wu as Destiny, a stripper that Romona takes under her wing. It is basically a story about greed, friendship, and family, blending a mix of drama and comedy. Despite being a movie about strippers, all the main characters keep everything covered. Cardi B and Lizzo have a couple of shots where they are in pasties, and Jennifer Lopez has sported some major cleavage throughout the movie and has a couple of shots of her in a thong, but that is really the extent of the nudity.For those who get the 4k set, the UHD disc has just the movie and the commentary track with the director. The only other bonus material is two trailers for the movie which are included on the regular blu ray disc. It is really quite weak in extras, so if you only get the physical discs when there are a lot of bonus features, then you will probably want to just stream this.Overall, it is a good movie with a decent story. Despite being almost two-hours long, the movie flows well and never seems to drag on. It is quite funny in parts, and the outfits they put Jennifer Lopez in (who still looks phenomenal at 50) are not bad either. It is definitely worth checking out.

Jennifer Lopez !! The girl is a super human. After watching half time and then Hustlers I began to wonder…Is there another star that works harder than she does?Such an amazing human being- truly an inspiration to women of all ages.like many mere mortals on earth, I gave up watching the academy awards a long time ago. It’s the opinion of 6- 7 thousand members. The majority being white males over the age of 60.If us common folk of today were allowed to vote as to who should receive an Academy Award, Jennifer Lopez would have won for her performance in Hustler.Jennifer, forget the AMPAS, YOU 🥇 WIN!Please keep doing what you do

I think if someone told JLo in her 20s that she will have a role as a stripper in her late 40s, she would say Hell yes! She is an artist, a woman who would love to try herself in any role! She challenged herself learning a pole dance and she definitely had fun with it. I first read negative reviews before watching but still wanted to see JLo. And I enjoyed the movie. Besides, it is a true story. Forget about JLo as a singer and try to really watch it getting the character Ramona. She did great as an actress. And yes, I could totally watch it again.

This is a decent movie and I don't have anything problems with them film.My 1 star rating is due to the misleading "Digital Code" information about this Blu-Ray.Problem: This movie says it has a "Digital Code" however this is not the same as Digital Download or any use of Movies Anywhere or VUDU.I have a VUDU & Movies Anywhere account. I tried to upload the digital Redeem code on VUDU several times with no success. The instructions in the movie case say you have to go to iTunes to redeem this movie digital code. Once you do that the movie can only be opened using iTunes. I even tried to link my iTunes account to my Movies Anywhere account. Even though that was successful I still was unable to watch this movie in my VUDU account.I was pretty disappointed that iTunes is this proprietary.Bottom Line:If you want to watch this movie anywhere other than iTunes then don't purchase this version of the movie.
