Pineapple Plant - Florida Special - Ananas comosus - Live Pinepple Plant VERY DROUGHT TOLERANT! Bred for Florida pineapple production by Libby fruit company. At one time there where 240 acres planted in Immokalee, FL prior to Libby selling to Nestle. Florida Special Pineapple produces a golden-fleshed fruit with great flavor. Ripening fruit has shown to take temperatures down to the mid 30's without internal damage. Young plants, ready to go in the garden. Keep in the pot or plant in the ground. Pineapple plants are OVERWATERING SENSITIVE, DO NOT OVER WATER, or you will kill them. Water once a week to the soil AFTER IT DRIES OUT, splash leaves with water in between.
