I purchased this lamp as a gift.The lamp arrived on time and in excellent condition. Lamps like these have a hand-made look to them, and you have to take that into account.The lamp I received accepts a standard-base light bulb. I used an Edison-style 60W LED Bulb (uses 4W) and a corded dimmer to achieve just the right level of lighting. Since the bulb is LED, they can just leave it on, if they wish to... I did try several LED bulbs and they all worked just fine; but the Edison-style bulb gives the warmest, most pleasing light. The bulb does emit a slight "hum" on the Low dimmer setting, but you have to put your ear right near it to hear it (hell, a candle "hisses!")I located this lamp on a dining room table where it serves as an ambience and navigation light, depending on where the dimmer is set. Ramped up, it is bright enough for intimate dining.The colors are very warm and pleasing in a darkened room, and the full length of the shade is lit at all brightness levels.I safely stapled all wiring and the On/Off/Dimmer Switch out of sight beneath the table.They loved it!RayB

First off, this lamp is beautiful! The colors and details of the unit are amazing and for that price...You couldn't go wrong. I purchased this while recovering from two broken bones in my foot to use as a nightlight. I don't sleep much with the discomfort. In the small amount of time I have had the lamp, my son went to turn it on a couple nights ago and it sparked. I had a friend get me bulbs today since I'm not allowed to drive. I tried every bulb in the box. Nothing. It did appear to have some darkness in color where the bulb goes...Wiped with dry cloth. Nope. Annnnd my "return to Amazon" expired exactly 7 days ago. The dragonfly signifies someone special who I lost. Now it's as if the light has gone out on this dragonfly.

This is a nice looking lamp, I am really enjoying it. So why 3 stars? Well, the light socket was so loosely attached to the base that I couldn't get the light bulb in. When I turned the bulb the housing turned with it. Very frustrating! The bottom of the lamp is covered by cloth material, so I couldn't get a grip there either. I ended up cutting off the material so I could tighten the housing. Afterward of course there was no problem getting the lightbulb in. So now when I lift the lamp it looks kind of gauche. With wires sticking out. All it needed was a few turns and it would have been a perfect lamp. How did this loose and rattling fitting pass quality control?

I was ready to not like this lamp given some of the reviews, but everything worked out for me. Given the warning about the styrofoam packaging, I was careful in opening the package and had very little styrofoam beads to pick up. I put a Philips Hue light bulb in the lamp and I am happy with the bulb at 100% or at 10%. I actually bought this lamp for my husband's night stand--he likes it, so a win/win for both of us.

This is one of my favorite purchases ! I love stained glass lamps and this is the fourth lamp I have ordered from Amazon. I started off using a 40W bulb. The glass got VERY hot. I bought a 25W and it is perfect! This lamp looks so pretty on my kitchen counter! The shape is different from my other three. Even with the 25W bulb this lamp gives off lots of beautiful light. I am so happy I finally made this purchase!

I love my new lamp - I decorate with nature themes; these are my accent colors; it's a perfect size (not too big, not too small); it takes a regular bulb (choose appropriate wattage with CFL, LED, or regular). Note: I took into consideration the review which stated to be careful not to use too high of incandescent wattage which can get too hot. I'm trying out both the LE 3 watt equal to 25 w incandescent and the 9 watt soft white CFL equal to 40 w incandescent to decide what's best in my location.

I own 6 of these..."dragonflys" are best...use pink "CFL's"...MUCH better than the ones they sold 6 months ago...BUY these!!!...You WON'T be disappointed!

Attractive inexpensive lamp, but has more green tones than I realized from looking at the photos. We have some beautiful genuine Tiffany and faux Tiffany lamps in our home, and this one just doesn't measure up. It's inexpensive, but also looks very cheap. Glad we only paid $30 something dollars for it.
