broadcasting on both Bluetooth Smart and ANT+
I purchased this to get heart rate stats into the Kinetic inRide app. I've only used it once so far, but it seemed to work as advertised. It paired up with the inRide app and read reasonably accurately (I didn't test it against another HRM, so this is just a "feeling" that it was accurate). The one thing I wanted to post this review for was to point out that this is a dual protocol HRM, broadcasting on both Bluetooth Smart and ANT+. If it weren't for a tiny ANT+ logo on the packaging (see picture), I might've missed that it had this functionality since it's mentioned nowhere on the product page here or even on Kurt Kinetic's own site. I paired the HRM to the inRide app (Bluetooth Smart) and to my Garmin 520 (ANT+) simultaneously, and it worked pretty much flawlessly. Time will tell whether I have the same reliability issues some other reviewers have had, but for right now, I'm pretty happy with this unit. They really need to play up the ANT+ feature, since it'd probably attract more customers.

Using this for indoor rides on my Kinetic Rock-and-Roll smart trainer. The trainer itself always pairs right away with inRide or Zwift (using Zwift's receiver app on the iPhone). The heart rate monitor, however, is really fussy. Sometimes it pairs immediately, before the trainer. Other times I ride without it, which is a bummer because I rely on that HR data for training. I just don't have time to fool with it before every ride. Will look for other options. By the way, the world of indoor training, sensors, ANT+, BLE, dongles and all that is a confusing mess so be warned if you're just getting started out.

Worked for a while...
It worked great for a season or so and then stopped working. I tried replacing the battery, checking connection, resetting, pairing to different devices, and all the troubleshooting tips on their website and nothing has worked.

I wish I had known that Kinetic HRM is junk
This Kinetic Bluetooth HRM is a bad product. I have purchased three of these because I rely on heart rate for my training on the Kinetic Rock and Roll trainer. The Kinetic application for iPhone requires that you purchase the Kinetic HRM for the heart rate input. If I had known that the HRM was junk I would have purchased a different bike trainer. I recommend against getting sucked in to this technology ecosystem. The last Kinetic HRM I purchased was in July, 2019. It is now December, 2019 and the third one is broken . I may start looking for a work-around. Sad but true.

Accurate and easy
I have used this with different apps and haven’t had a problem. I have checked the accuracy against my wrist with a stopwatch and it is accurate

Really accurate and connects well
I use this heartrate strap with my Garmin cycle computer. Keeps more accurate HR than my Apple watch and very comfortable to wear. Always connects and reports HR continuously.

stopped functioning after 1 month
I should have known better this was my second attempt with the product, first one failed in a month just like the second one.

Must have for winter
This has brought my kinetic trainer rides to a whole new level. This works great in combination with the bluetooth sensor that tracks watts on the wheel.
