CLEMATIS: Always called the "Queen of Vines," nothing else makes the spectacular show of a clematis in full bloom. In almost all zones, these magnificent plants decorate mailboxes, trellises and porches with cascades of some of the most beautiful blooms in the flower kingdom, and they're not difficult to grow. There's no reason you can't add them to your landscape. Clematis Tie Dye Origin: Hybrid origin. Clematis 'Tie Dye' is a new breakthrough in clematis coloring! This clematis is similar to the popular 'Jackmanii', but the 6" flowers have dark blue petals with lavender-white centers that streak out to the edges in silver. Blooms from June through July. 'Tie Dye' is very unusual and appropriately named!

They lived!
I could not find clematis at our local nurseries last spring or early this spring, so I decided to buy this purple tie dye and a Jacmani . I thought I was just wasting 30.00 because what was the likely hood of 2.5 inch plant surviving?Surprise! They arrived, spent a week in my greenhouse and are thriving now out on my patio in 6 inch pots. I am most pleased.

Do not recommend. Photos attached
I am attaching photo of the rooted cutting as it appeared when it was shipped to me. It has one living stem less than 1” tall, and it has one taller but completely dead stem that has a jagged edge at the top like it’s been torn off. The plant was also root bound, with roots having grown tangled around each other inside the pot and some roots coming out of the bottom of the pot. I gently untangled the roots and planted it in a spot with optimal conditions, and where I can pay close attention to it. I hope it survives. Based on its tiny size, fragile condition, and prior neglect, it’s certainly not a plant one could expect to survive without major coddling. Large, 6” flowers? Maybe in five years, if the plant makes it. I’m (Update: the third photo is the plant three weeks after planting. I don’t know if you can see in the photo, but although the leaves are still green, the one remaining stem coming up from the root is shriveled and brown. I don’t think the plant is going to make it. It is located in a spot right by my front door, so that I see it and make sure it is tended to every time I go out the door. Assuming the plant dies, it is not from lack of care and trying on my part. I’m giving it a one star review for that reason.)

Did not thrive
It probably was me but I kept it in the original container, watered it and put it in a sunny spot on the deck. It did revive but then soon started drooping so I planted it outside and within days it was gone. Very small to start with, like a seedling. It might be that I lack the skill but am not sure what else I should have done.

Will wait and see.
Recieved a healthy clematis vine to plant. As a gardener one knows it can take a couple of years before a clamatis will bloom. Per the pictures, it's a beautiful plant. Hoping it turns out as lovely as the picture!
