Faucet Lahara 17 Series Dual-Function Shower Trim Kit with 5-Spray Touch-Clean Shower Head, Chrome T17238 (Valve Not Included)

I needed to get rid of the old gold colored fixtures and didnt want to have to get in a plumber. I was a little unsure of whether this would fit the old plumbing perfectly with zero leaks. It did require minor modification of a plastic tab in the cartridge with a dremel to fit properly (2 minutes). Other than that, worked like a champ. 2 months in, I couldnt be happier. Looks great and I love the shower head that comes with it. Nice match for the Delta Lahara faucets I installed in the sinks and tub.

We were rebuilding our shower and I wanted a new valve assembly that would control the volume of the water flow as well as the temperature. Delta has a great system by which you installed a basic valve body and can then purchase different “trim“ items to match the decor and function that you desire. I watched a “how to“ video on YouTube which helped me install the unit (I did not use a Plumber) since the enclosed instructions were not very clear. I would highly recommend this item I’m glad I spent the extra few dollars to get the functionality I really wanted

I watched a number of online/youtube videos and this fit and worked perfectly. I replaced a 27 year old trim kit and their was a bit of "build up" inside the old parts. The only change that I really noticed, other than the new looking finish, was how easy this trim rotated. I guess after a slow build up over 27 years, you don't really notice the resistance. With the new trim kit, that resistance is gone, so it operates absolutely like new. Would buy again.

Hard to find a shower-only controller that will let you change the volume and temperature separately. Finally found this one, but the install directions made it sound like there was to be very little play in the temp adjustments - saying installers needed to inform clients that they might have to make seasonal changes to the settings, to account for varying temps in the cold water coming in. That set me on fire, but I was stuck at that point, having already installed the Delta controls behind the wall, so I went ahead and installed it, anyway. There's a gear-like device in the guts of the faucet that actually will stop you from adjusting the temp more than a few clicks, but I called them, to try to find out what the heck that was all about, and they swore that it would not stop me from adjusting the temp any way I wanted. I called them liars, and quoted the passage, but they insisted. Once I started assembling, I kept trying it repeatedly along the way - to ensure nothing stopped me from adjusting all the way. There were some gear teeth pieces left over, but it still worked, so I stopped there. It works. I can control the temp from all cold water, to all hot water, and from low volume to high volume. Yay! I tossed the other pieces, and got on with life. Pros: * Most important - It allows me to set the temp AND the volume! Yay!! * This is a nice looking setup. Very chrome-y, despite being a lot of plastic. * This is easy to adjust - using 2 levers, rather than knobs, so great for my Arthritic hands. * It lets out plenty of water, at least on the pelt setting. * It has an "Off" spot on the shower head, though it still trickles a bit. Cons: * CONFUSING directions! * Unnecessarily complicated installation, and parts. * Plastic parts. The vast majority of this is plastic, and it feels it. (But it looks great) * Shower head is fine, though not many options, and the "Off" setting still trickles. Overall, this was the best option I could find that would allow me to adjust temp as well as volume - separately. Not sure why Anyone would want to have the water on full blast at all times, but I'm not a fan of cowering in the corner while being pelted with water. Thanks to this, I don't have to anymore.

The shower head is nothing special, but the faucet is a winner. It has separate levers for temperature and volume. After waiting for the hot water to arrive through the house piping, you set the temperature lever once, and then you can forget it. If someone flushes the toilet or runs hot water in the sink while you're showering, the faucet automatically adjusts the temperature to protect you from scalding or chilling. You turn the water on and off with the volume lever (the big one). Next time you shower, the big lever is all you need; the temperature goes back to just where you set it last time. A very welcome invention. Not sure how it's done without electronics, but it's way ahead of conventional shower valves.

Absolutely beautiful. Looks just like the picture. Love the ease of use, setting the temperature before turning on the water. My only complaint is that federal standards limit the hottest setting to tepid. The first shower was not fun. But our contractor warned us about it and told us how to easily reset the limit. Sorry I can't remember exactly how my husband did it but I'm sure it can be Googled!

This is the second one I've bought. Perfect, just like the first one, which is still going strong in the other bathroom after 10 years.

Works really well. Had to install the valve also, but it was worth it. Now we can change the water pressure and the temperature individually, which is what the regular pressure balancing valves will not let you do. Only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that it's a little tough to keep spotless. We keep a microfiber cloth nearby and just wipe it down after showering. The shower head that comes with it is quite nice also.

Excellent quality, second bathroom reno using this controller. Last one was ten years ago and it still works like new

The ad says that the valve is not included, which is correct, however the cartridge is. I had a hose two things confused and ended up ordering another cartridge, but it wasn’t required

Returned for a different shower head.

This is a beautiful shower fixture set! We couldn't find anything quite like this one in the store and are glad we decided to order online sight unseen. The fixtures are just elegant and really make our shower look like it's worth a million bucks. We get constant compliments on these fixtures after the renovation. Hopefully they hold up well over time - only time can tell for that part.

I love the shower handle being able to control both water volume/flow as well as temperature. Delta makes some very nice products and the feel of the handle is very nice when you adjust anything you want while showering, not too loose, not too tight. The large handle does the volume/flow and is basically a quarter turn from off to full on so it's not like you have to turn the handle far to get your flow to where you want it. Same for the smaller handle mounted on top of the flow handle. The flow handle is metal. The temperature control handle is plastic, that's about the only questionable thing you could even consider with this set is the plastic smaller handle
