A powerful and secretive corporation is conducting underground psychic experiments utilizing Digital Direct Drive, otherwise known as DDD. While under the influence of the drug ether, the human subjects are outfitted in rubber suits and bombarded with DDD with extremely intense sound. Though the experiments are successful in unleashing psychic powers in the test subjects, the results are usually fatal. As a result, the corporation attempts to shut down the experiments against the wishes of Motomiya and Hitotsubashi who are in charge of the research. In a desperate attempt to salvage their work, the two researchers take over the lab and hold an innocent secretary hostage while they transform their fellow researcher into an ether addict and use him as the final human guinea pig for their experiments. The result has to be seen to be believed as his psychic powers are unleashed in a wave of ferocity that will leave you breathless.

If i had sections to my brain, this one of them.
Hard to explain for the most part. And don't t judge the film base on the front cover. As some porno freak show. Because its not. It is strange, bizarre , crazy, twisted movie. A roller coaster mind trip experience. But this one of those Rare gems that you wont find in a store. The movie base on Experiment on people with this stuff called DDD. And they find out it make people do weird crazy animal like things and go into violent rage. This is out of the ordinary. Expand your horizons with this one.. It might be acquired taste. But you but lease give it a shot.

like a NIN video. Feel what you felt when you first watched tetsuo all over again.
great film from the Japanese cyberpunk genre. Shows strong Tsukimoto influences. Fun little film that has me taking a serious look at the rest of this directors works now. If you like Japanese cyberpunk then this will be right up your alley. even has the psychic cyborg theme so prevailent in the genre. Does it justice. a nice addition to the genre.

Another asian horror i didnt understand
Ok this movie DOES have its moments but the whole movie itself is ok. It has alot yelling and bad acting. The movie all together though is really good though. I like the story (in some ways) and i dislike the movie for its action.I kinda felt like it needed more action and more of a purpose. You kinda figure it out for yourself. This review probably isn't helpful because im seriously speechless.

Mad Science Goes Berserk (When Scientists Get High On Their Own Supply)
The Good Things*Extremely vivid filming style. Lots of great photography and strong imagery. Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch can eat their hearts out.*Filmed in glorious black and white! (Although color enthusiasts may hate this).*Good production design, especially for what appears to be a low-budget film.*Good acting (even though they spend a good deal of time screaming their heads off).*Interesting sound design (even though a few parts are kind of irritating).*Interesting music. The Bad Things*Not for the squeamish. Contains quite a few bloody scenes, a rape scene, and one or two other sex scenes.*Plot is practically incomprehensible. Lots of parts that make you wonder "What the heck is going on now?"The Questionable Things*Lots of demented torture scenes and madness.*Extremely weird too. This is like watching "Pi" with lots of graphicness and madness. The plot is hard to follow, but the film has lots of awesome camera angles and strong imagery. Sometimes, it's hard to tell if the film is trying to be artistic or just plain mad. In either case, the storyline suffers tremendously, and most people may not really care for this. You'll either hate this, or sit back and revel in the insanity. The DVD is in fullscreen, and has good picture and sound quality. Special features inclue an older short film, an interview, a photo gallery, and one or two trailers.

This is a no popcorn movie
I strongly suggest not eating during this movie. I thought this movie was kind of cool, but gruesome. The movie has a somewhat disjointed plot, but seems to tie things up okay in the end. There are really only six characters in this movie, so in some ways it is more like a disjointed play. A play with blood spray, entrails, cannibalism, and the almost manadatory rapes scenes (though, thankfully, no tentacles). The premise of this movie is that if you torture people with sound and hype them up on ether, you can induce psychic abilities. The two mad-scientists are essentially creating a monster. The movie is sort of like watching Frankenstein on acid.A word of warning, if you are not into horror or into Japanese films I would strongly suggest you stay away from this film. It is horrific, and it is very Japanese.

This movie will make you think twice as to what you just watched. Did you know that psychic power is realized when mental anguish exceeds physical pain? You will once you watch this movie! Scientists 'Motomiya & Hitotsubashi' use a brain-altering drug (Ether) to conduct experiments, after one such project goes astray, they need to find another test subject (Linuma) in this Japanese Splatter-Punk Film. After the corporation tries to shut these two 'Crazy' scientists down, they take a hostage (An innocent secretary) and conduct guinea pig like experiments on Linuma. Who in turn does some crazy experiments of his own on the secretary (If you know what I mean). At one point there's a strobing effect that was making me wonder if I was going to grab a kitchen utensil and take to the streets if I continued to watch it, but thankfully it ended and I was fine (and the world continued to be safe). This movie reminds me of Tetsuo 'Shinya Tsukamoto' (Partly because it's in B&W (Black & White) and that it's part of the Japanese Cyberpunk Collection). It also reminds me of Eraserhead 'David Lynch' (Because it's also filmed in B&W and has a lot of Industrial-Type settings). This movie also has a 1987 Short Film called "Gerorisuto". it has an interview with the director 'Shozin Fukui', who also directed 964 Pinocchio (Another must see if you like Japanese Cyberpunk Movies). This is not an easy film to watch (It was for me though); Is it ugly? (Yes it is) Is it dark? (As the middle of the night) Is it Creepy (Like the chills up your spine) and it's an audio-visual assault on your senses "It's what I call squirm factor". Now if your still reading this review click on the 'Purchase ASAP' button and why your at it, go ahead and buy Shozin Fukui's first movie '964 Pinocchio'. You can Thank me later for opening up your Third Eye on movies. Stick around and read some of my other 'What I call Third Eye or Dimension Movies' reviews. You only live once and everyone should see these strange, surreal masterpieces, that haven't even barely surfaced in the U.S.

Hardcore Cyberpunk - No Pretensions.
A couple of crazy Jap scientists, Motomiya and Hitotsubashi, are conducting underground psychic experiments utilizing D.D.D. (Digital Direct Drive). The human test subjects are fitted in rubber space-gimp suits, injected with a large doze of ether from a hyperdermic the size of a bicycle pump and bombarded with the D.D.D. technology and some intense sound frequencies. Although the scientists have had some success with the test subject showing sings of psychic powers the end result is usually fatal. The big corporate funders have had enough of these two demented whack jobs and decided to shut 'em down before anymore innocent victims go boom..In a desperate attempt to salvage their work, the two scientists lock-down their basement laboratory and take the hot snooty secretary hostage whilst they transform their research assistant, Linuma, into an ether addict and use him as their last human guinea pig. Linuma, having seen all the other human subjects explode, isn't too happy about the selection process, and the secretary ain't looking to good after being subjected to a sustained and severe sexual assault on the dirty workshop floor. Having found the correct frequency and repaired all the D.D.D. technical faults, Linuma's psychic powers are finally unleashed in a wave of ferocity. This flick is typical Japanese cyberpunk - disjointed direction; badly acted; shot entirely in monochrome and ultimately goes nowhere. Only purchase this flick if your a diehard fan of Japanese cyberpunk because it really is hardcore.
