Informative but dry
This book is not anecdotal. It is a dispassionate study of recent crises in international finance. Basically the whole book can be summed up with the rule, "Pay attention to world bank regulations." This is, however, a handy book of international case studies for risk managers. It describes a number of international incidents where countries' banking systems went pear-shaped.

Five Stars
One of the best works on "how to" assess and use country and political risk.

Very useful book for practitioners
A very well-written and well-organized book on Country Risk analysis with numerous case studies. I think this book would appeal primarily to practitioners (sovereign analysts, global macro analysts, country analysts) rather than to the lay person who wants to dabble in international investing.

Clear, concise reference source.
This book provides a quick way to get up to speed on country risk. If you want to cut to the chase, this book does that.
