Shel: Warning #1: DO NOT start reading this at 11pm unless you have absolutely nothing to do the next day or you will find yourself going without sleep and without people to commiserate with. Fortunately I have summers off and could stay up until all hours of the night obsessing over this book, so I did. Unfortunately, no one else was up so I had to deal with my anxiety and 'what ifs' and other things by sending texts to Courtney knowing she was sleeping (so in other words, I had to be a big girl and deal with it BY MYSELF--insert despair emoji here). Court: Let the record show I told her that she'd be up alllll night and wouldn't stop! Hahaha. That's the best book though, that even though life functions the next day will be minimal...it will totally be worth it. Shel: Warning #2 If you haven't read Paper Princess you probably should start with that novel and that review and not go much further in this review. We're going to do our (edit) to not spoil anything here for Broken Prince but may mention some things from Paper Princess in passing and we'd hate to ruin your experience with either book, so read on at your discretion. Court: I concur. Definitely should not read this book without reading that one, because your experience will be so much better. Be #royallyruined properly, please. Shel: I honestly could write an entire post of 'warnings' about this book. For instance, this book will #royally(edit)ruinyou but let's face it, Elle Kennedy and Jen Frederick are the two who are really ruining us. These two crafty devils are ruining us for any book that has the unlucky position of being read after a Royals book. JFC. I'd barely recovered from my Paper Princess hangover and here I am completely book drunk and absolutely worthless because Broken Prince nailed it (and nailed me). I swear to god whatever writing voodoo they have going on with this series is addictive and I hope they never ever stop; I will willingly submit to their voodoo magic anytime, anywhere. Every single piece and part of Broken Prince (and PP for that matter) work--the pacing, the dialogue, the characters you love to hate and hate to love ...and love to love are superbly developed, and the plot gives you enough detail and information to answer the questions you've been wondering about only to be gasping and grasping for answers at the end (hellooooooo cliffhanger). Court: Yep. We have many lists of characters. Ones that we're watching. People who have the "C" word dangling above their head, if labels were to dangle over their head. And I think it should be noted that I've seen some shade thrown around out there about this series, but the best part that I love about it is that it is outside of the reality of my high school years...suspend reality, and chillax and enjoy it please. I have a lot of nostalgia for when you're newly dating and everything is new and exciting, especially things you *haven't* done...and that made me smile like a thousand times brighter than the sun, because it was FUN and sexy and sweet! And the mean girls are mean, and the boys that we love in this series have some seriously messed up heads and issues, and I want to hold them to my chest (ahem, haha) and solve some of their mommy issues. Okay, /rant, and continue on. Shel: I could warn you that you're going to catch a very solid case of the feels and it's gonna hit you from every direction--horror, tenderness, pride, anger, frustration, hilarity and more. Court: I think that is a big like factor...Erin Watt et al make me feel *everything* - every single emotion felt, and honestly at any given time for any given character. Which annoys me when I want certain people to make smart choices, and they don't. And then do something brilliant a few pages later, only to annoy me again. But, well rounded plot, and new questions, and gasp worthy moments at the ready...and I read this thing at warp speed. Shel: I could warn you about how much you're going to fall in love with this series all over again and feel wholly unprepared with your anxiousness at waiting for the next one to come out. I could warn and warn and warn or I could just tell you about my texts to Courtney while I read and she slept; I basically made a series of lists-- The very short list of people I liked (it changed the further I read). The increasing list of people I wanted to slap or (edit) punt (this list held steady for a large part of the book). The list of places in the book when I had a verbal gasp (several). The list of creative cursing I used and used often from pretty much chapter one (I pulled out some oldies but goodies for this round of reading). The list of emojis and gifs that littered our texts back and forth..and for that matter, a good number of exclamation points too.And my constant comparison to 90210 that slid into Melrose Place and ended in a very 1980's nighttime soap opera comparison a la Dallas or Falcon Crest. The drama and angst and good times were on point and would make a fantastic nighttime soap.Court: HAHAHAHAHA. OMG. That is amazing. And somewhat makes us seem a little bit insane, but baby, we're crazy - and we like it. So...mostly I wish I could re-read both of these books for the first time again. I wish that the Royals were real. And...just know, that you can come crying to us whether you love it or hate it, we'd love to chat - but do think you'll love it, hate it, love it some more...and then just make a mess of your hair in frustration because it sucks you in, and then we have to wait for another. But, wait we shall. Brilliant, Erin Watt - just bloody brilliant. Shel: All of this to say that I am in awe of what the duo who make up Erin Watt have done. I'm absolutely addicted to this series and I cannot wait for the next book to be published. Thank you, ladies, for giving us a series that reminds us of how much fun this book world is. Court: Yes! These pages hold gold in the form of words, and I cannot tell you how refreshed as a reader I am every time I read them. And then am hungover trying to find the next magical thing to read. Sigh. JUST READ IT ALREADY!

"Broken Prince;" Trashy Bit of Sex, Replete with Vast Quantity of Profanities & Ends with a Cliffhanger but it's Exhilarating
Quick OverviewIf you enjoyed I Scream, You Scream by Lily York because of its clean, wholesome writing, you are going to hate this and will be turning several shades of red (not gray) due to the explosive language and, uh, stimulating graphic content throughout these pages. More to the point, if you somehow work your way through the blistering passages, you probably will be going to confession. That being said, if you’re still reading this review because the foregoing doesn’t dissuade you, beware the cliffhanger ending. With no further prelim, I shall move on to describe what I enjoyed and what I found disappointing in this new release.Length: Print, 350 pages. Not yet available as an Audible book.Q - Target Audience/Genre and is it marketed as Nonfiction or Fiction:A – Fiction, contemporary romance.Q - How was this book obtained?A – Bought during pre-order.Q – If this is fiction, is it a plot-driven or a character-driven story?A – This is plot-driven and told in first-person point.Q - Is this a book that I can read without having to read others first?A – You can, but you’ll find it much less interesting and are likely to purchase the first book.Q – If this is a recurring character or a series, does it have a cliffhanger ending?A – This has a cliffhanger ending.Q - Are there a lot of typos/misspellings, grammatical errors or other editing failures?A – No.Q - Is this a fast, easy read or is it more of a leisure read?A – A fast, engaging read.Q - What sort of language does this writer use to amplify the points made?A – Adult English. There are a great deal of profanities, including f-bombs galore. The language is representative of the personalities depicted.Q – What age group is this suitable for?A – If this were a film it likely would be rated PG-17, possibly R, due to language and sexual content.Q - Is there sex, and is it graphic?A – Yes to both questions, but not so graphic as might be supposed.Q - My biggest pleasure or disappointment?A – Despite its flaws, or, perhaps because of its flaws, Broken Prince is bound to be a huge success. My only serious complaints are that the foul language is more frequent than is necessary to make the point being made; the necessity to read the previous book and the cliffhanger endings of book 1 and this book.Having stated that, however, I certainly plan to read the third book. The writing is THAT brisk and well done.To give a feel for the editing, and the style and flow of this work, I am posting a brief excerpt below.Excerpt…And when I bend down to kiss him, his lips part automatically. He tastes like sweat, smells like grass, and is a pretty fantastic kisser. His tongue stays firmly in his mouth, but he can use his lips like a master. No wonder girls leave perfectly nice clubs to have sex with him in a stranger’s car. I grip his hair and tighten my legs around his waist. He groans in response and his fingers bite into my axx.Cheering breaks out, only to be cut off abruptly. The next thing I know, Reed is ripping me out of Wade’s arms.“What the he!!, Carlisle?” he growls.Wade shrugs ruefully. “She jumped me. I couldn’t let her fall.” “You don’t touch her. No one touches her.” Reed throws his helmet in some poor player’s stomach and advances on Wade, his hands fisted. The big, blond quarterback laughs and puts up his hands. “I didn’t encourage her, man.”Reed glares and then points a finger at the rest of the team. “Ella is a Royal. She belongs to me. If any of you axxholes want her, you have to go through me.”My jaw drops. “Screw you, Reed. I don’t belong to anyone, least of all you.” I kick him in the back of the knee, then turn to look at the line of football players. “I’m available. Who wants a go with the trashy stripper? I know tricks that even porn stars don’t.”Eyes light up but then immediately transfer to Reed. Whatever his expression is, it causes every gaze to drop the ground. Not a single guy steps out of line.“Cowards,” I mutter. Then I whirl away and stomp toward Val, who’s grinning at me from the sidelines. Screw these Astor Park kids. Screw them all to hell.Watt, Erin. Broken Prince: A Novel (The Royals Book 2) (Kindle Locations 1510-1522). Timeout LLC. Kindle Edition.Bottom Line:Much as I detest cliffhanger endings, I did enjoy this story. This author is going to become a household name.Four stars out of five. Sorry, but I simply cannot rate a book with a cliffhanger ending as five stars. But, of course, that’s just my opinion.Comments regarding your opinion of this book or of my review, whether favorable or unfavorable, are always welcome. If you buy the book based on my review and become disappointed, especially, I do want to know that and I want to understand how I can improve as a book reviewer. Just please be polite.Thank you.

This keeps getting better and better!
Broken Prince is the amazing second book in the trilogy that is The Royals, by Erin Watt. The first book Paper Princess ended on a cliffhanger and Broken Prince pretty much picked the story up right from that point. We got to find out more about what happened at the end of Paper Princess and the story in Broken Prince just kept getting better and better. It seems like Ella and Reed just cannot stay away from each other at all. Somehow they find themselves drawn towards each other, no matter what happened in the world outside, these two would always find each other. There were more twists and turns in Broken Prince, and we get to read from both Ella's and Reed's POV at the same time, and I really enjoyed that. You get to the end of Broken Prince and bam you get not one but two cliffhangers at the same time! That's a really brilliant (and evil!) way to end a book but I'm fortunate to be able to get straight onto Twisted Palace, the next book in this trilogy, so that I can carry on the story.

Just as addictive as the first book!
I have been desperate for this book ever since the dramatic cliffhanger ending of Paper Princess, but it was a big mistake to stay up late to finish it though, it left me restless all night with hardly any sleep - there were far too many questions going round my head! This book starts off right where Paper Princess ended, and we get to read those events from Reed's perspective. We get to see exactly why Brooke was in his bedroom, why Reed was stunned into silence when Ella found them together, and why he didn't come after her."My instincts had screamed at me that she was trouble. My instincts were wrong. She wasn’t trouble. I was. Still am. Reed, the destroyer. It’d be a cool nickname if it wasn’t my life and hers that I’m taking down."What happens next? Well the Royals, who were so vehemently against Ella when she first arrived, actually start to fall apart after her departure. She has had such an impact on the family in her short time in the Royal household , and they are desperate to find her and bring her back. I really felt for Easton, he had formed such an attachment to Ella, and he was gutted when she went.“You should be strung up by your nuts and hung out to dry.” He spits at my feet. “If you don’t find Ella and bring her back, I’ll be first in line to see it done.”There's not a lot I can say without giving away spoilers, and this book is best experienced going in blind. There is so much going on in this story, there are revelations, shocks, and jaw dropping, heart stopping moments! One thing is for certain, once you start reading, you won't want to stop!I love how the story is woven so skillfully together, there are answers to questions raised in Paper Princess, and then there are more revelations too. Then, just when you think you have something figured out - BAM! All of a sudden the rug is pulled out from under you - AGAIN! An explosive beginning, a story packed with drama, highs and lows, and another mind blowing ending. O.M.G. that ending. SWEET JESUS indeed!I'm going on holiday in October, but I think I'm more excited for Twisted Palace than my 2 weeks in Kos! I can only hope my hotel has a damn good WiFi connection so that I can download Twisted Palace on release day, as it doesn't come out until after I leave for Greece!

Broken Prince
Daring to care has broken both Reed and Ella, but that is only the start of their troubles. Their high-society school recognises the slip of the Royal family's control, and everything devolves into chaos. Even at home, old enemies return to plague the Royals.Just give me a minute...Bloody hell, Watt knows how to write a cliff-hanger. I thought the end of Book 1 was pretty effed up, but this one was just...give me a minute...Yes, I enjoyed this, very much so.It starts with Reed, dealing with the aftermath of his "betrayal" of Ella. Of trying to bring her back, when she runs away. And dealing with the blackmailing Brooke, who doesn't care which Royal she gets her gold-digging claws in.Then it brings in Ella, when it's clear she's going to stop running. I was a little disappointed that her time away from the Royals was glossed over - after all, this is the girl who worked at strip clubs with her dead mother's ID to survive. But I as happy to see her back.I was even happier that she didn't immediately jump onto Reed and forgive his lying arse.I felt that the story was a little bit sweeter than the first book, because Ella knows about the stuff going on in the Royals lives; Reed is working hard to be a good guy for her (but not above beating somebody); and Valerie provides something invaluable - Ella's first real friend, and someone who missed her when she ran. That being said, it still hits hard.Aster Park is sensing weakness from the usually unbreakable Royal brothers, and the high-society teens are pushing the boundaries. Everything breaks down into absolute chaos, and needs a very strong hand to slap it back into place.I might have mentioned this in my review of the first book, but Ella is awesome. There's other drama around Brooke regaining entry into the Royal family, but I won't mention any of that, because it might spoil. And then there was that ending...Next book, please.

Devoured this book its fab!!!
Devoured this book its fab!!!Ok this is book 2 in this crazy series set around the rich Royal family and continues on exactly where book 1 Paper Princess ends... which made it so easy just to fall straight into to find out some answers from the cliffhanger book 1 left us with!Focusing mainly on Reed Royal and Ella Harper again ...will we find out what happens when Ella returns to the palace and will she be able to forgive Reed?Told in POV of both main characters but also giving us great insight into the other brothers Easton Sawyer Sebastian and Gideon... with dad Callum thrown in too.Although this book helps settle our hearts and heads we are left yet again with a jaw dropping ending and desp wanting to jump into book 3 instantly.Hottiness... craziness.. great family.. fun.. laughter and 5 sexy guys all rolled into one great book.Fantastic writing that just makes you not want to put this down.

Loved it.
WOW!!! After the Cliffy of book 1 I was dying to read this one.I was gripped from start to finish. There's so much going on my head was completely spinning. These guys are all in, in your face they are all forces of nature. There is nothing modest about any of these Royals. My heart was in my mouth especially at the end. These books have the motherfuxxers of all cliffhangers. Like Jaw on the floor gonna Pee yourself cliffys. I love them. I'm kinda disappointed I don't have to wait before reading part 3.My favourites are still Easton and Callum. I'm dying to read more about them. Yes I love Reed and Ella too.Bring on the rest of the series, I'm hooked on these Royals now.
