Best water based body paint I've tried
I do SFX makeup as a hobby and semi-professionally (mostly around Halloween) and this pallet is great as a base. You can mix the colors to create pretty much any color you want which is very helpful when working with specific shades (for example: I did a Gamora from GOTG and she is a certain shade of green, but it was super easy to mix) All you need is water to work with them. Some tips are that once it dries it will stay for a long time, I've even slept with some on and it didn't come off BUT if you will be wearing it out where there might be water, like if it is going to rain or something beware because water will wash it off or at least smear it. Also the less water you use the more opaque the color will be and the more water you use the lighter it will be. It all depends on the look you are going for but remember a little can go a long way. If you mess up, you can either use water on a paper towel or q-tip to wipe it off or if it is in a small area or something I would just wait for it to dry and then paint over it. you can pretty much paint over any color with any other color and it will be fine. So work in layers!! And most importantly have fun! This is a great pack for beginners and is super easy to work with. It even comes with a brush that is pretty good quality!

Professional looking results even for beginners
I've used this for 2 years now for my kids' halloween costumes. These are really great quality paints, and they store well...hoping it'll stay good for a few more years! I use a set of good makeup brushes and sponges to apply. The colors are easy to mix (I use a separate plate as a palette for mixing and a separate wet brush for each color I am transferring out of the pot) and apply very nicely once you get the right consistency (more watery for all-over color, more creamy for dark lines). Dries to a soft matte finish that doesn't transfer easily...one of mine even still had the paint on her lips on after chowing down on Halloween candy. With kids just make sure they don't touch it (keep eyes closed if painting lids) for a few minutes until it's dry. Easy to remove but you MUST use a quality makeup liquid makeup remover. You can use one of the facial towelettes (like Neutrogena) to get most of it off, but then you really need to follow up with a good liquid makeup remover. I haven't used much of the blue and red but would imagine those colors could stain - I would consider putting a makeup primer on underneath those colors and that might help prevent any staining into the skin. After one year I thought I had "lost" my red color from the compact (it looked like a rust brown) but once wet it turns vivid red again so no worries! You can buy separate colors if you need something specific. For those doing Gamora, the Mehron color "Light Green" (from the pastel series) is a perfect match and much easier than trying to mix the green and the white included in this kit. Did not irritate any of our sensitive skin. One of my kids even remarked this year "it feels just like my skin" - once it's dry, it doesn't look like caked up paint which is great! I think it's worth the price, especially since the paints have remained good for more than one Halloween, and I feel like they should stay good even longer.

No bones about it! It's a great product!
This was everything I hoped it would be! You use these kind of like those kids water color paint palettes: get some water on a brush and agitate that into the dry makeup cake. This kit comes with a brush that's good for most general work, but you may prefer to invest in an assortment of brushes for detailed work or a larger brush or sponge for more broad application of product. This product dried very quickly on my skin, and I could mix the colors to meet my needs (but you might want to do that on a separate surface or on the mirror in the kit if you want to keep the color cakes pristine). On that note this palette does come with a very nice and very large mirror. I did a test of the makeup (I attached a photo) and wore it for an hour. I put makeup on my face and chest and just moving around the house the makeup held up well. Afterwards it washed off easily with soap and water as advertised. I have sensitive skin but had no reaction to this product. Some extra things to note: In addition to the Mehron makeup/paint in this look, I did achieve some shading with and eyeshadow on top of the dried paint (although some shading was done with the paint as well). I used eyeliner to line my eyes rather than bringing the face paint right up to my lashline, just to be safe. This look was sealed with a makeup setting spray. Despite setting the makeup, I would caution that this makeup is probably not the best for situations where you might be sweating a lot (like an outdoor fair) since sweat will break this makeup down (these are water activated paints/makeup). The instructions for this palette recommend to not use the red, yellow, or orange around the eyes and to not use the blue or green on the lips. To be safe it might be prudent to use regular cosmetics in those areas if you needs those colors. Option: At the time that I'm writing this NYX has a colorful eyeshadow palette called ULTIMATE in USP04 BRIGHTS that is pigmented and affordable (in my opinion). I recommend always testing the product before the particular event you are planning for if possible, just to make sure the product is compatible with your skin and works the way you want it to. Amazon experience: at the time I'm writing this Amazon is fulfilling the orders of this product. The first palette I received was completely busted and broken (shattered mirror and all). I called Amazon and they very quickly worked with me to fix the issue. The second palette they sent me was perfect.

Excellent face make-up, professional-looking results even for the amateur face paint artist
Excellent product, highly recommended. This professional grade product was used for a school production of The Lion King, Jr. to recreate full face make-up similar to the ones from the The Lion King Broadway production and this worked very well. The color palette is very versatile and colors can be mixed to obtain all types of other hues and fading effects. This was used for full face make-up for Rafiki (sage baboon), Zazoo (bird majordomo), Sarafina (queen Lioness and Simba's Mom), Nala (Simba's friend and lioness queen), and other characters for two shows, and about half is remaining. As a complete amateur having never applied face paint, I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to apply, how vibrant and rich the colors were, how good the coverage was on all skin tones (sometimes requiring a second application for light hues as could be expected), how comfortable it was for the children to wear, and how well it aged well as it was still uncracked and smooth after several hours (during the after party). This was removed easily with make-up removal wipes. The red color left a faint tint on the skin which was washed away with soapy water. This was the best product in an assortment of other products purchased for the show. Products from the Snazaroo Classic Face Paint line came in second place and are a good alternative at a lower price point.

Tricky to work with but great quality
If you plan on using this for an event, PRACTICE FIRST! I'm an artist and have used many mediums before but this was still a little tricky to work with. Getting the right consistency can be difficult and I recommend looking up videos to help. That being said, this is very high quality makeup. It's not greasy or cakey at all—it has a wonderful matte finish on the skin, even naturally oily skin. It lasted all day and didn't rub off. It IS WATER SOLUBLE so it will come off if you're exposed to rain or any other water source—though this makes it incredibly easy to wash off. This palette will probably last a long time if you're doing lighter makeup. If you're looking for full body coverage or you're using it frequently you will likely run out quickly. Depending on what consistency you create you can make it opaque or transparent. I recommend using multiple thin layers for the best coverage. The colors are easy to mix, though I have to deduct a star for the color choices... why do we need orange if we have red and yellow? Why brown if we have red and green? A cyan and magenta would allow for a much greater range of colors. Overall it's a good palette, just make sure it fits your needs before buying.

a good product, does not do well with brushes but is great with sponge use. dont pay over $23 for it!
the size of the paints are a lot smaller than the picture makes it look (only about an inch around) and they are pretty close together so when you are using one color it smears into the color next to it. i cant seem to get the consistency right, i'll load the paint on the brush up to the metal part but i can only make a few lines before it looks like it is running out of paint. i am constantly spraying my brush with water and dipping my brush in the paint. when i watch videos of people face painting they can do almost a full face of teardrops and outlining before they have to load the brush again but with this paint i am having to spray the brush or put more paint on it after just a few seconds. and when i try to use a little more water to see if it will spread on the skin better it is too thin and transparent. if you get wolfe brothers black and white to do the outlining, this product does really well and wont smudge, but if you line it in paradise then it smears a lot. that being said, the colors that i have used with a sponge are vibrant and you dont need a lot to get good color coverage (except the white, the white wasnt good at coverage). even when it is dry, completely dry (like hours later) it will smear pretty bad! as soon as i received this product the price dropped $6!! dont buy this if it is over $23, here is the link to the one that is $23 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4D9N5A?ref_=pd_rhf_dp_s_cp_2&dpID=41XWxW2OixL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_SL500_SR135%2C135_&refRID=1B88C1HVQ173ZF68E3FT&pldnSite=1 not that i care, but my case is black, not silver like the picture shows. i am changing my rating from a 3 to a 4. now that i have the wolfe brothers black and white to outline and highlight with, i really love mehron/paradise. i like the smell and how well they blend with a sponge. except for the white, the paint covers very nicely and you dont see the skin through the paint. all green paint, no matter the brand will leave a little bit of a stain on the skin after it is washed off. this is no different, but what is different about paradise, is that the 'stain' is gone after you sleep. i have had a few different brands stain and still show the day after removing the paint from my face.

Great Quality Face Paint (long lasting)
I absolutely loved this product! I’m usually scared to use face paint because I have sensitive skin but this one was great. The pigment in each color was pretty high quality. I had no issues adding color to my face and the paint dried quickly. The paint was neither easy to smudge once on and neither dripped if water was sprinkled on it by accident. Most importantly, the paint lasted almost perfectly for hours (even on my lips!) and was pretty easy to remove with water and a regular face cleanser afterwards.

Mehron/Paradise 8 Color Paster Review
I purchased this set along with the 30-color sampler by Mehron. In combination, they are a very diverse set with enough colors to paint almost any type of image. The quality of this make-up/paint is very good as I saw this used by a face-painter at a museum who was also an art student. They recommended the brand and set and said that for the price/quality, it is a good investment. The set is a high grade paint/make-up that is so much better than paints you find in regular retail stores, which may dry-up and are difficult to use. It is also water-based and very easy to clean up and wash off (simply use soap and water, darker colors may require a more thorough rinse). Having used this now for about a month, I would definitely agree (Please see by review of the 30-paint set). This little case is thin and portable and even comes with a brush (slightly wide tip for broad applications, as well as a mirror under the cover). This is a convenient touch as I use both sets and don't need to carry so much, other than the brushes and a water bowl. The colors are very intense and even in distribution. These colors also do not rub off so easily and can withstand a whole oday of wearing, with minor touch-ups. My kids like to choose the colors of their images, bases, and this set adds to their choices. We are very happy with the quality and purchase and will continue to use these paints/make-up.
