Let’s be clear. Whoever had the cheek to call these things “heavy duty”, really wants their bumps felt.Heavy duty, they are not.Also, the wall fixings provided with them are pathetic.That said, once I used my own proper (heavy duty) wall fixings, they are doing the job I bought them for, which is.....all 4 spaced at 1 metre intervals, supporting a number of 4 metre planks of cedar cladding, weighing a total of some 30-40kgs or so.

No need to look elsewhere. These brackets are fabulous. Very well constructed and very sturdy.The actual colour is a very dark grey (almost black).Also they have a nice gloss finish to them.The size is exactly as ordered.Would purchase again. Highly recommended.I’m using mine to support some heavy oak strips to use as shelves (cut offs from an oak worktop).

When you open the box, it's a little surprising to see such small and feeble brackets, especially when.you see the description and the weight it says they hold?I was going to send them back, but decided to use them and just add in an extra bracket per shelf. This appears to have done the trick. I wasn't putting too much weight on the shelves anyway, but I would still be careful.Buy your own screws and rawlplugs though, as the free ones that come with them are not fit for purpose. I used the screws to put into the shelves instead.

Pretty decent quality. Very sturdy and well made. They don't look quite as nice as the ones that cost a lot more so more for a garage/utility room or somewhere you want a "utilitarian" look.Only downside was that the screw holes are difficult to access because the bracket gets in the way. The only option is to put the screw in at a slight angle.

I have just taken delivery of these brackets- how can they possibly be referred to as ' Heavy duty brackets'. - I am sending mine to the local trading standards to see if they agree with the description given by the seller when they describe them as, 'heavy duty shelf brackets'. I thought heavy duty items were designed to withstand the stresses of demanding use- me thinks these brackets certainly won't do that.

Excellent product , smaller than I imagined so check size I obviously didn’tI used them on a new gate I was building from scratch , the joints were already mortised and tendered and glued and screwed but as it such a heavy gate I belt and braced it .I know there not for external and it be my fault if they rust , but I wanted a cheap solution and will paint them as wellFast delivery and look smart

These tidy brackets are a nice addition if you need to put up bookshelves or storage shelves and have different sizes to choose from ..I bought the white ones for bookshelves as they blend in better with the white walls where the shelves will be mounted and as they are a closed bracket it gives them extra strength..

Other reviews suggested not using the screws provided so we used brass ones to attach the brackets to the wall but we didn't have anything small enough to attach the shelves so decided to risk it. We got about half way in and the screw snapped. It no longer has a head on it so I can't remove it from the shelf, I'll just have to saw it off.The brackets themselves are fine but not very sturdy. The cross brace is mostly decorative and the brackets wobble a bit despite being securely fitted to the wall.I should have spent a bit more and got something more sturdy.
