A Meticulous Account and a Riveting Read
I have a bit of history w The Plaza and thought I was fairly well versed in its history. Wrong! I’ve always known it has been a rollicking and sometimes rocky road for this most magnificent wonder of a landmark but it turns out I didn’t know the half of it. Meticulously thorough, filled with the most minute and fascinating detail, It is very hard to put down. Satow has done the Plaza, its legacy, and New York City a great service here. Finally, I was astonished to learn that this is in fact Satow’s first book. What a debut…

Discover New York’s most iconic hotel
Some of my favorite memories of New York revolve around this iconic hotel, this is why I was looking forward to reading this book.Julie tells in this book many interesting stories about this hotel, since the early days of its founding until today. It seems as the walls of this hotel have talked with Julie and they’ve told her their most juicy secret. If you love luxury hotels or New York city then this is the book for you.

Great History
This book truly is a history book covering The Plaza as it survives through crisis after crisis, both from the world and its owners. Some incredibly interesting info! But it is a history book and therefore, it does get bogged down at times with the facts about the hotel and its guests, owners and employees. Overall, it is a great historical book about an amazing hotel.
