Cornucopia 15-Milliliter Cobalt Blue Glass Balm Jars (12-Pack); 1/2 oz Cosmetic Jars with Lined Black Plastic Lids

I would like to say, these jars are everything they advertise and I absolutely adore their size. As for getting the order itself, I received it with 5 broken jars. The jars were shipped stacked in 2 rows, 6 columns, and not individually wrapped, so, while they were wrapped in bubble wrap and it was fairly snug, I think that by not individually wrapping these they are more prone to breakage. Overall very happy with the product itself though.

Probably most people will want these for things they create--salves, ointments, and so on. I would probably have been very happy with these, and don't want to discourage others by giving a 3-star review, which basically says "meh." I purchased them so I could have a travel bag packed with small quantities of various toiletries (moisturizer, foundation, hair goop, etc.) and having it always at the ready. For this purpose, one wants to screw the lids tightly, so they don't leak during travel. Unfortunately, I have already broken two of the jar tops. The seller was great when one of them arrived broken, promptly replacing it, and I'm unlikely to use the whole dozen of these. (And honestly, for my purposes an even SMALLER jar would be ideal.) I was trying to reduce my use of plastic, but I think for my purposes plastic would have been better. If you make products that you want to put in attractive little jars, these might work well for you.

I ordered two sets of 12, 24 jars in total. I threw away three of them because of chips - did not want to use jars with sharp edges in the chip location. One jar apparently was chipped after it was packaged into bubble wrap, two others with chips were chipped before packaging because I found no glass pieces inside of the bubble wrap bag. I also noted some smell coming out of the jars, which at a minimum implies that I will have to put more effort into washing them than I normally do. So, this was a little disappointing. On the positive side, all lids work well and the smaller size, 0.5 oz, is good for certain applications - and this is not a very common or standard size for sure.

I waited for these cosmetic jars in order to put my home made lip balm into a glass container rather than plastic. When I opened them today, I noticed they ALL smelled like stinky cheese. I was not going to pour hot lip balm into these jars. So I put them in very hot water for a few seconds to help kill off any bacteria.Also, the jars do have imperfections. There is a lip on the bottom of some of them which is probably from the mold the liquid glass was poured into. Normally, you would see the seam, but here is sticks out all the way around.Other than that, they are what I was looking for and needed.

I actually love these jars. They are solid and appear to be airtight. However, one arrived smashed. I emailed them and sent them photos like they instructed. I was supposed to receive a replacement, but it never came. I did email them asking about it, but no reply.So the product was really nice, but customer service not so good.

Perfect for making small DIY samples of creams, ointments, salves, etc. I did notice an oily substance inside, but I just washed them out with Blue Dawn dish soap which cuts grease really well and let them air dry for several days.I will buy more and recommend them because they are nice, solid, and very attractive jars!

Three of the jars arrived smashed, so I had to clean broken bits of glass off the other jars before using them. They were packaged, I kid you not, in one sheet of bubble wrap (inside a huge amazon box), so that’s probably why they broke—but also, the jars have varying levels of thickness; one is notably thinner than the others, and another has a divot in the bottom of the glass. Plus, the lids don’t fit very securely. I won’t buy these again!!

Containers are very nice but several came chipped on the rim. Had already used a few when I realized so I couldn’t return and contacting the maker was not an option. Would’ve been 5 stars without chips or with ability to speak to the maker.
