It's a good learning tool

These are pretty good trainers, good weight and decent chain/swivels of an appropriate length, but the rubber comes off on your hands even in cold weather. Worse if you are sweaty. Nothing a little soap or waterless hand cleaner can't handle though. Just don't wipe your hands on a white Gi.These are not "soft" trainers. They are hard rubber like tire tread and fully capable of knocking out a tooth or installing lumps and bruises. Milder than hardwood though.I would buy them again for students to practice with, if the price doesn't go up....

These are pretty awesome, harder than I would have thought they'd be however. They do flex a little in swinging and will probably hurt if you hit yourself but not as painful as hardwood I would think. The sticks are about 10" long and 1" in diameter, the chain is approximately 9" long so they do 'fit' me, I usually prefer a 14" stick and 4" connection but these work fine for me. Bought them as a novelty item with the hope they could be used for sparring however I do think they are too hard for that unless you wear padded sparring gear. Overall, I think they are a pretty good pair of nunchaku for beginner or master.

I love it! Thinking about it was “safety” and it’s impacts were similar to foam. I demonstrated to my mother and said “look ma! it’s safe it doesn’t hurt!” Tapped my head and it in fact did hurt. Left me a bump.Also, be very careful tangling in the chains. It cut me somehow, probably the part where the chains connect to the bearings. It’s sharp so be aware. Wear some gloves. Other than that, it’s awesome!

Weight is expected for the more durable material, however the smell the rubber leaves on your hands will require several washes to dissipate. Not recommended for nunchaku beginners due to the chain being slightly too long for standard maneuvers. An experienced user can adapt to this which makes these an overall excellent gift or martial arts weapon.

I have not had a set of these in many, many years and when I started looking for some I was concerned that they were mostly made of foam rubber - too light for what I was accustomed to. I was very happy when I got these because they do have some good weight making for a good upper body and cardio workout. If you buy these as your first set, expect some bruising (hard rubber, not foam rubber), but also expect a good workout. I'm very happy with them!

Excellent quality, , good for training, but definitely not for children. Made of heavy firm rubber, therefore only for adults use , children can hurt themselves
