As Advertised, No Surprises
This is a very functional item. It takes about five minutes to assemble and works as advertised. There are no working parts which require assembly (the swivel comes assembled and attached to the bottom from the factory). One piece of advice: do not over-tighten the screws. Just hand-tighten them but don't force them -- that's a quick way to crack the screws. My stand holds 48 lbs. of equipment and it shows no signs of failure. My center-channel speaker fits in the lower tier with plenty of room to spare. The lower tier could easily accommodate my stereo receiver, or it could accommodate my TiVo and Blu Ray.The swivel works smoothly, although I must say that I keep one hand on the TV and the other on the stand when I swivel the stand from side to side (to keep the TV from rocking). It's probably not necessary to do this, but I feel more comfortable doing this anyhow.I am able to use my file cabinet as a stand underneath the swivel stand. The file cabinet is only 16 inches wide by 22 inches deep. The weight of the unit -- and everything that sits on top of it -- sits entirely on the swivel which is not more than 12 inches wide six inches deep (smaller than my TV's pedestal stand).Do I "love" this item as my 5-star review suggests? For $34 with free two-day shipping, absolutely. It's not beautiful, but it's not an eyesore. The bottom line is that it saved me from spending hundreds of dollars on a brand new TV stand with shelves. It works. Be good to it, and it will be good to you.

Excellent concept and function ... unsure about quality
I needed a stand to place on my dresser to elevate my 37" LCD (30 lbs). Didn't care about swivel stand and was apprehensive it would swivel too freely and contribute to the TV toppling. What attracted me the most to this stand was its nice appearance and more important it's tremendous 9.5 inch elevation ... most stands are around 4-5".After spending less than 5 minutes setting it up I developed some positive first impressions and one negative.Positive: 1. It is very simple in design and construction. Two particle board shelves, with the swivel assembly firmly mounted to the bottom.2. The swivel carousel is large in diameter with absolutely no suggestion that the attached shelf (base) would tip left or right.3. The shelves appear very strong, nice wood grain veneer, and assembly holes very cleanly drilled.4. When assembled, the unit is tight with zero sway. It's rated to hold 60 lbs., and I have no doubt that it will easily manage my 30 lb. TV.5. The swivel assembly is tight. It will easily swivel at the touch but will not do a high-speed 360 when the cat pushes it.6. The wide open area between the two shelves is very welcome as I was wasting valuable dresser real estate. My guess is that two components of normal width can be stacked in this area, say 2 out of 3 of a VCR, DVD, Cable Set Top Box or DVR. Only consideration is the 23.6 inch width less the supporting poles at the corners.Negative: The plastic construction of the supporting poles and especially the lightweight plastic tightening "screws" at the ends of the poles do not inspire confidence, although they are tight and the unit does not sway, as mentioned. One reviewer indicated that 3 of his 8 "screws" were broken and he knew the package had been previously opened. I can easily believe this is exactly what happened. I'd bet the farm that the previous owner over tightened them. That's a guarantee for disaster given the flimsy character of these "screws". With the money they're making on this item, they could have and should have supplied metal supports and "screws" (end caps). In all, this is a nicely designed very functional enhancement to any TV setup where the TV is on an elevated surface as a dresser or larger TV stand. My rating would have been 5-star were it not for the plastic components.Given what's available to meet the need fulfilled by this unit, I recommend it to you. Please be careful with the assembly and do not over-tighten the plastic "screws".Thanks for reading ... Sam

Simple and yet effective for placing a center speaker under the TV.
I have a new Sony 55in LCD/LED model weighing 47 lbs and I also have a large center speaker. My entertainment stand does not have a center section where I can place my center. When I replaced my 46in LCD I had a problem, I could either get a new entertainment stand or add a wall shelf or find something like this, but it needed to fit my center. My speaker is 22in wide X 9 1/2in deep and 7 3/16 high. The distance between the upper and lower shelves was my concern in this case, but this stand just fits with the inner measurements at 7 13/16, fits very nicely. The width of this stand made it so that when placing the speaker inside was easier to do so from the side, but it could be managed from the front as well by angling it in. So w/out having to remove the rubber feet from the speaker my center fits this stand as if it was made for it.Also, others mentioned removing the swivel or they had thought about doing so. I didn't need it and I also wanted this stand to be as stable as it could be for the size of TV I was going to place on top, I removed it.With the stand I received I just pulled up on the 3 piece swivel, you will see a round disk that is appears to be two disk, one is attached to the other by a ball and cup joint in the center of the disk and pops right off allowing you access to the other two sections (1 ball bearing cage and a upper and lower disk) where there are several screws. I removed all the screws and the entire swivel and added some feet to the stand.I think the stand is made well enough for what you pay and I also like the fact that this elevated my TV where I think I can view it better, being that I wear glasses with progressive lens and would have to look down in order to see the screen clearly before receiving this stand.

GOOD CHOICE
The measurements of this item are wrong as listed. WIDTH IS HEIGHT & HEIGHT IS WIDTH! 15.8 in. width & 9.3 inch height. Space between shelves is not listed but comes in at 7 & 5/8 inches. I found the correct measurements at another site before I ordered this unit. I took a guess that the space between the shelves would be at least 7 inches in height and got lucky! The unit has shelves that are finished on both sides(bonus!). The quality vs. price is excellent. Purchased this unit to hold my 65 inch Panosonic LCD TV @ 63lbs. The Furinno Turn & Tube stand I ordered first was rated at 40 lbs. so I bought this one to ensure the extra weight capacity. They are both excellent for their weight ratings, but the C.C.D-2-Go also has a functioning swivel too! Its quality is also better than the Furinno stand for basically the same price! Their dimensions are almost exactly the same. I kept the Furinno stand to use with my computer equipment.

Perfect for my needs
Have put this on a low TV stand, similar to how it’s shown in the Amazon picture. Each stand on its own is too low, but combined they’re the perfect height. This is advertised as taking a maximum weight of 60 lbs and holds up to a 20" flat panel TV. The flat screen I have on it is 40" and weighs under 20 lbs. It looks great. Much better than I was expecting.

Fantastic!
Easy to assemble...took about 5 mins from start to finish. Very sturdy and well built. I put it on top of another tv stand that was just slightly too low and it works perfectly, but if used on it's own it would definitely be too low to the ground. Overall it's much better than I expected.
