The lancets did not work. We bought our own and could never get enough blood for the unit to work. Always got error messages.

I like this monitor because it gives readings for total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, and non-HDL, and also because the first reading I took gave numbers for all of those that were pretty close to what I got when I recently took a lab test. The included instructions are kind of sketchy, but there are some online videos that show how to use the monitor.

My test results were consistent but around 20 points lower than lab results I got from my doctor. This is a good monitoring tool to track the effect your diet and exercise has on your cholesterol levels. However, you need to have at least one precise lab test done at the same time as one of these CURO L7 tests to see what the difference is. This worked out well for me to track the effect of taking dairy products out of my diet, which led me to a significant change in lowering my cholesterol. Having only 5 tests available with this kit, even though there are 10 lancets and 10 blood draw tubes, is a bit disappointing. I guess it was still worth it since I messed up a couple of times, drawing bubbles into the tube and not squeezing out a large enough drop of blood before the puncture clotted. Starting over with a fresh tube, a couple of times, and again with a fresh lancet, another time, seemed like a waste.At least there were spares to get this done right. A will likely buy a refill pack with 10 test strips some time in the future. For now, I have these 5 tests to relatively compare to a lab test, before starting the CURO tests, and a lab test done after the forth CURO L7 test, over a 5 week period with no dairy consumption. If I had totally trusted my doctor's advise, I would have been on some statin medication a long time ago. I now know there is no need for drugs, so that's a good thing.One bit of advice I can give is to fast for at least 8 hours before testing yourself. 12 hours would be better. Testing in the morning is convenient, after 8 hours of sleeping. Coffee or tea, with no cream or sugar, is acceptable to consume while you fast, or just drink water. Stay hydrated. This is no different than the instructions your doctor will give you prior to having blood drawn for a lab test. Do this to ensure the best accuracy of the test. Consuming any food, even a little cream or sugar, within 8 to 12 hours before the test, will result in inconsistent and inaccurate test results.

The product isn’t hard to use, however the accuracy is terrible. I went to a lab to have them draw blood the same time as I did this test and the results were extremely off with this kit (the lab results were very much on par with my past results). Customer service is a joke, just terrible.

I wanted to keep track of my numbers. I don't want to be on medication. This home testing kit does give you results in 3 minutes. I am tracking this in a notebook. I have gone from over 200 to 179. Today was the best day for all to be normal! The kit has everything needed. Beware strips have an expiration date of 6 months.This is saving me money; I have been doing the home test kits you mail in wait a week for the results.I highly recommend this product! I had an appointment for my annual, used the kit before heading to the doctor. The numbers on the kit matched the results from the doctor's office! I will continue to use this to monitor. I even have a home glucose meter and it matched as well.

Once you follow the instructions and maybe watch a video on how to use it, it's straight forward. For example, fill the plastic tube only to the black line - do not fill the whole bulb (one commenter here got that wrong) and watch or the order: Insert the clear test strip into the closed device and wait for the prompt to open it. Only then dispense the blood.The main problem is that the test, at least for me, is inaccurate. It's readings are about 30% below what I get from blood work at the doctors office. So, if you don't know your numbers already, this test will not give you the answer.On the bright side, it seems that the test is fairly consistent - that is, it is consistently off by about -30% in terms of TC and LDL. I'll have to see if this is infact something that stays consistent or if it just simply always returns the same LDL reading. If it is off by a consistent number I could live with it, once I figured it out.Looking at Silkychoices review I noted that my CURO-L7 output is basically the same as the one Silkychoices reported. It could be that the CURO-L7 just returns slight variations of those numbers (eg. TC around 180-190; HDL around 50-60 and LDL-C around 115-125). Maybe users should start reporting on whether they actually get different numbers here...TLDR: Simple to use but grossly inaccurate. Would not recommend buying this product

i had high expectations for this reader but , it fell short . at best it will give you total cholesterol ,hdl and maybe triglycerides if lucky . not a total panel which it suggests . not really worth the money

I wanted to do a test roughly every 4-5 weeks but if the test strips expire they are useless and you get error codes. Mine had been manufactured well over a year prior and I was only able to use 4 of the 10. At $10 a pop , I’m very frustrated. Also noted that numbers are way off from my lab results from my annual doctor checkup. I will not be buying another 20 pack.
