These are a decent size. Not too big. Not too small. They produce a great spark and will a great addition to our camping gear and get home bags.

The media could not be loaded. Looking to up my wilderness skills and bought this value ferro rod pack . Once I figured out the right striker it worked like a charm, creating fast hot sparks, even got the fire started with one strike on occasion (see vid).The trick is to use a -hard- metal with a thin square edge. Any piece of hard metal will due, but the dedicated striker I bought works best. I also modified, ground-down a bit, the back of my inexpensive knife to make the edge flatter, squarer and -slight- bumpy (see pic) , now it also works great as a striker for these ferro rods. No matches, no problem!

Some ferro rods are obviously overpriced; probably the result of the current fad or trend of being a “survivor “ or knowing bushcraft. I backpack and hike and make lots of fires. This throws hot sparks, and is not overpriced. A little soft, so it may not last for thousands of strikes but I know I will reliably get hundreds. Perfect for starting a stove or tinder. I cannot imagine anyone giving these a bad review if they know anything about how to start and build a fire. I would purchase more.

i bought both colors because the price was not bad,they work like they're intended to.

I have been using Bayite and Light My Fire ferro rods which are great, but bought these because I am teaching youth how to use ferro rods. I was surprised how well these worked for how little they cost. I would certainly buy them again.

Excellent quality good price

I got these to replace the ones on my knife case when they wear down. It fits like a glove. I have not used them yet but they look good to me. Cheap and affordable replacements.
