Excellent companion to the official Cream BBC recordings
Like the Fleetwood Mac Transmissions double cd, this is a great addition to the official BBC sessions cd, from around 1998. Looking at my copies of both, there seems to be 18 tracks on Transmissions that were not on the official release, although the 5 tracks recorded in Sweden also appeared on a bootleg entitled Stepping Out, many years ago, as did Strange Brew and Tales of Brave Ulysses (from May 1967). In addition, the 3 tracks from the Revolution Club appeared on a video called Fresh Live Cream many years ago.General sound quality is very good, although I guess they are taken from various sources, because it does vary in places, although that is not to suggest it is poor at any time. Having said that, the tape speed gets a bit dodgy on occasions, particularly on cd2 - the Revolution tracks were not that great on the video, so appear to have been transferred to cd as they were.Great to hear this early work, where the tracks were by necessity kept quite short. What more can I say? If you are a fan of Cream, you will want this cd!

Great Cream tracks
This is a good recording but remember it’s unauthorised so quality is not top notch. Some duplicates from the official recordings e.g Stockholm show as a bonus disc on DVD. but if you want a complete collection this is for you.

Sound quality not the best
Only 4 stars just because the sound quality is not the best, but then again these tracks are very early recording’s from transmissions as the title says

Depends what you want.
I am not sure about some of the other tracks but, having seen the Moody Blues "Colour me Pop" session (which is a visual treat) the band are miming to the songs from *On the Threshold of a Dream". So if you need to have everything and are happy with an inferior recording of tracks which you can get in exactly the same performance in excellent sound quality on the actual album then that's great.Personally I prefer the Moody Blues at the BBC (which also has a few tracks from TV which are basically them miming to the records and are not essential - though there are less of them!
