LionDog Handmade DH 1060 Steel Samurai Katana Sword Red Saya Sharp Blade with Bohi

Very nicely balanced and light blade perfect for kata. If you practice iaido and want a sword that won't break the bank this is the best you'll get for around a hundred bucks. The hamon is beautifully visible and has an aggressive looking pattern, atleast mine did. I was surprised at how well and tightly wrapped the ito was. The high gloss dark red finish on the saya looks very nice and would make a beautiful display piece but in my opinion too fancy for a dojo setting so I'll be sanding and finishing it flat black. My only complains are that the blade does rattle a bit inside the saya and the tsuba looks cheap and machine made so I replaced it with one I made myself.

Just received my LionDog Katana and I am like a kid at Christmas. This sword is absolutely perfect. As with my other Munetoshi, I can't find a single flaw anywhere. Out of the box the blade was well oiled and wrapped in what looked like saran wrap. the entire blade is razor sharp. Sword fits nice and snug in the saya, but can be released with a push from my thumb. Saya is a beautiful dark burgundy metal flake. In bright light it is amazing looking. For under $100, this might just be the best deal on a differentially hardened carbon steel sword you will ever find.

For a 100.00 katana it is very nice. The looks, feel, fit, finish, is well done making this a great deal. It handles very well even though I prefer my tsukas to be 12 to 15 inches, this one does the job nicely. That saya is very cool with the metal flake finish.
