I've wanted the Beall system for a some time to buff and polish pens turned on my lathe. However, considering my limited, occasional use, the Beall price was more than I was willing to pay. Searching for a cheaper solution, I found this Rustark 6 pc Buffing set. It was delivered yesterday. I immediately headed to Lowe's to pick up some 1/2" all-thread, 6 nuts, and 6 fender washers - all for about $9. I drilled a small hole centered in one end of an 18" length of the all-thread and then mounted the wheels. The rod tightens into my lathe chuck with the other end supported by the live tailstock. I used the tripoli bar on the yellow wheel and the white diamond on the white wheel. I'm saving the un-sewn fluffy wheel until I get some canuba wax (which I wish it had been included in the set). My first effort of buffing indicates both wood and acrylic pens finished out beautifully and should get even better when waxed. So for about $27 I have a very useful accessory for my lathe and I'm glad I made the purchase.

These are excellent for knife making, especially for either bake lite or wood polishing.....East to clean as well.

My problem was the Mount holes are too small for my polish motor. I just missed that when I ordered and not that the parts were missing the info.

Leave cloth wheels are amazing for polishing metal. I've tried to use them as part of the honing/sharpening process on knives with limited success.
