Be afraid ... be very afraid ... Experience the ultimate in horror with The Fly Collection, featuring the chilling original trilogy, the eye-popping '80s remake and its terrifying sequel. Packed with hours of fascinating special features, this 5-disc set includes 1958's The Fly starring Vincent Price; The Return Of The Fly, in which the son of the original scientist continues his father's work; and The Curse Of The Fly, in which a woman finds she's married into the wrong family. David Cronenberg's 1986 remake of The Fly electrified audiences with its ground-breaking, gooey effects and the riveting performance by Jeff Goldblum as Seth Brundle, a scientist whose teleporting experiment takes a tragic toll. The hair-raising sequel to the remake stars Eric Stoltz as Seth Brundle's son, who is beginning to show the effects of his father's experiment. Get ready for hours of skin-crawling terror as you witness a transformation like no other – from man to fly. Bonus Content: Disc 1 - The Fly (1958) Review: A must own! - This is the definitive Fly box set, I highly doubt Disney will put these out on 4K any time soon because they are a bunch of schmucks. The transfers for The Fly 58,86, and Return are the same as the Fox releases, this is Curse of the Fly and Fly II's blu ray debut in the US so the transfers are a bit different. The Fly 58 looks fine and I see no fault with it, it has amazing DTS sound and some features. Same goes for Return/Fly. Curse/Fly's transfer is serviceable but nothing exceptional, there really isn't much to compare it too since it's so obscure but it does sound good. The Fly 86 looks solid enough, but it could use a fresh remaster because this HD master is quite old. It has very good audio options including the original stereo track which hasn't been seen since the VHS/LD era and exclusive to this release, there are a bunch of new extras as well with everything ported over from the old discs. The Fly II transfer looks quite good, a big step up from the previous DVD and has two audio tracks, a DTS 5.1 and original DTS 2.0 stereo. Surprisingly this one has the most features in the box set new and old. All and all, buy this before it goes OOP. Review: Great box set - Great films and great collection as always from Shout Factory. Must have for collectors of classic movies on physical media.

Pick this up and be afraid - very afraid
I was really looking forward to getting this boxset and wasnt disappointed after going through each of the movies. The quality is stunning and each movie has a decent amount of extras packed in, especially Cronenberg's adaptation. Included in this set are as follows: the original 1958 film, Return of the Fly, Curse of the Fly, the 1986 adaptation, and the Fly 2. Prior to obtaining this boxset the only film in this collection that I had seen was Cronenberg's version due to my great interest in his work and I enjoyed it. The 1958 film is charming in a 50's B-movie way and seeing Vincent Price is always welcome. According to the extras though, the real gem here is Curse of the Fly. For years this film sat in relative obscurity and was difficult to obtain for home viewing. Conceptually I'd rank it higher than Return of the Fly but sadly the execution wasn't very satisfying. Overall I'd highly recommend picking this set up to see a collection of some classic horror films. Enjoy!

A must have collection.
Not a big fan of all the movies, but the original The Fly from 1958 and the remake from 1986. Both are terrific. In my opinion, one of the extras, a documentary on the life of Vincent Price, was worth the full box price all by itself. BlueRay HD picture and sound is terrific. The only negative is that the original The Fly is in 4x3 aspect ratio, which is what it was filmed in, so it does not fill a typical 16x9 aspect ratio screen. This set is a BUY!

"The Fly" Five-Film Collection Caught On Blu-ray By Scream Factory
Scream Factory releases all five "The Fly" films on Blu-ray in one definitive collection, looking their best in HD and each film coming in its own individual case, inside a sturdy, well-designed box. All previous extras from the first three films are ported over from the previous DVD box release from 2007,(minus the booklet). New audio commentaries are now included, three on "Return Of The Fly" alone! I only had "The Fly" (1986) and "The Fly II" (1989) on a double-sided DVD from 2000, which is blown away by the plethora of extras here that will take hours to get through. Fly fans can not go wrong purchasing this set, which is well worth the money. Vincent Price, David Hedison, Brett Halsey, Brian Donlevy, Jeff Goldblum, Geena Davis, Eric Stoltz, and Daphne Zuniga are among the stars. Curious though how there is no mention on the possibility of a "The Fly III" by anyone...

Nice video quality, decent movies, too.
I like this series of movies. Especially the first one. Not just a horror movie, but a bit of lesson in morality, too. Most people have seen these things by now, so there's no point in going into any detail; but, they make for an enjoyable evening in front of the tube. I'm a bit surprised that more of these movies aren't being put out in 4K now that so many tv's support it. 1080-P is a step back, but when compared to 720-P it isn't, so we can all be glad of that. The picture looks good in these, nice colors, good detail. A good translation. For older folks like myself, older movies are a good break from what is being put out nowdays, as plots migrate more and more toward unrealistic action and adventure with acrobatics and cgi replacing actual acting. And, has anyone else noticed how difficult it is to pick out the voices in these new movies? In the past enunciation was stressed and demanded by directors, making dialog very intelligible in films. There is so much whispering now in movies along with too loud background music that it is very hard for an older fella to understand what is being said. No such problems in this collection of movies.

Shout Factory Strikes Again!! Excellent Collection of Fly Franchise in Blu-ray
I previously owned the Ultimate Fly Collection Blu-ray which was a similar box set containing all 5 movies but The Return of the Fly and The Curse of the Fly didn't have subtitles. This box set is superior in every way. This is the supreme Fly Collection in Blu-ray. Shout Factory did a fantastic job. Whoever put this product together had a love and respect for the fans. Every movie has subtitles (and I love the yellow font color of the subtitle text - the best color in my opinion especially for black and white movies). There are tons of extras, including new feature commentaries. If you are a horror fan, this product definitely deserves a place in your collection.

Great collection
The five stars goes for the Cronenberg film alone. It’s an awesome little set. I wish it had digital copies but at least when the internet dies I can still watch these beauties.

A impressive set of science fiction films.
First thoughts of this fly boxset is it is quite extensive in special features,i believe it has some special features ported over from older releases of these films. The fly films themselves vary in how they are.

Scratched and defective
The films and the set deserve 5 stars. However ... I ordered three of these sets and intended to gift two. Every single disc in each one of the three sets were either badly scratched or full of blemishes. The three discs I sampled all exhibited at least one freeze or one total crash during playback. Looks like the work of the Mexico replication plant again. Also, although all three sets were sealed, for one of them the cases had a lot of wear on the spine. How is that possible for a brand new set? Not Amazon's fault at all, I should point out. Anyway, fantastic set of brilliant films but unfortunately the absence of Quality Assurance processes makes this set not fit for purpose. I am so tired of buying brand new US discs that come scratched or damaged straight from the factory...
