GM 8.5" Posi Unit - 28 Spline - Chevy GMC - Eaton-Style Limited-Slip Locker NEW

INSTALLED THIS IN MY 1984 HURST/OLDS WITH A 8.5 GM FACTORY DIFFERENTIAL. FITMENT WAS GREAT. HAD TO INSTALL SMALLER SHIM ON THE LEFT SIDE OF CARRIER. THIS PRODUCT IS FOR 28 SPINE AXLES WITH C-CLIPS. SET UP WAS A BREEZE. I USED 80/90 GEAR OIL WITH 8OZ OF LIMITED SLIP ADDITIVE. AFTER AWHILE OF USE I THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA TO CHANGE THE FLUID AND ADDITIVE AGAIN BEINGS THIS UNIT HAS CLUTCHES. GREAT PRODUCT AND IF YOU WANT IT MORE AGRESIVE YOU CAN PURCHASE RED SPRINGS FOR THE UNIT. THE PURPLE WORKS GREAT FOR MY APPLICATION.

Installed in a 1979 Camaro with 3.42 gears, 454/turbo 400. Had rearend assembled at a local shop, no problems. Added fluid and 2- 4oz bottles of additive and took a drive - loud grinding/crunching noise heard (normal), went to an open parking lot and did numerous figure eights in both directions and drove it home - quiet as a mouse. Great value on a new posi, will be buying a second one for my 1972 Camaro SS/RS.

Installed in a nova smoothly. No funny noises. Have not been to the track yet but works as intended on the street.

I have a carrier go out on my 1937 Chevy St. rod I bought this one and it worked great easy to install and holds up good

I thought this was a Yukon posi. Turns out it isn't a named brand posi at all. The title for this item says "Eaton style posi". It's a knock off. I am considering returning it.

I wish it had shims but didn't. If you have never replaced one don't do it your self.
