A 5-Star Baking Book For Beginners & Advanced Bakers
“Everyone Can Bake” is a well-designed book, with color-coded sections, listing the recipe on the vertical color bar on far right of page, making it easy to flip and find your baking options. Other pluses are the beautiful images; the metric as well as US measurements; notes on storage; pairing recommendations; ideas on how to pair bases with different fillings and finishing; how to create showstopper combinations. Not to mention great recipes that actually work as written.Recipes are categorized: Bases; Fillings; Finishings; Assembly & Techniques. Ansel encourages mixing and matching different bases, fillings, and finishings, suggesting ways to creatively combine for new, exciting flavors. If new bakers use this book, I think they will become far more than good bakers, they will become amazing bakers because Ansel fosters fearless kitchen play.I own hundreds of cookbooks, too many to count actually. I initially thought I did not need to add this baking book to my overstuffed bookshelves because the title led me to believe it would be too simplistic and geared towards beginners. Let me say that this book will work for both new and experienced bakers. I am thrilled with “Everyone Can Bake”, so much so I will purchase his first book as well. And I am so impressed by the graphic design by Simon and Schuster. Certainly will be a contender for best baking book in 2020

Wonderful
I was looking for a book to help me with mousse cakes first and foremost. At first I was a bit disappointed that this is too basic for me, but I really have come to appreciate this book especially in comparison to Ksenia Penkina book Textures. It’s really well written and edited. I like that many options are provided for the same basic recipe. Very easy to follow, doesn’t call for hard to find ingredients. Don’t hesitate to buy it. This will make a great gift for anyone.

Generous and inspiring recipes
I am too lazy to write any reviews but this will be my first because i really want to share how fantastic this book is. Unlike most baking books which pretty much gives u a recipe to work on, Domaniquedelivers the intent of the book; "everyone can bake, simple recipes to master and mix" The content reflects the generousity of the teachings; you can feel the author genuinely wants to share his knowledge and skills with you. His recipes for dessert components are building blocks for your own creativity; no more being a copycat baker, following a recipe from a to z. The book is also peppered with stories of his life .. ok... no more spoilers ! Enjoy the book and be imspired.

Now is my "Go-to" baking book!!
This is one of the best organized, well-photographed, and clearly laid-out baking books that I've ever seen. I have many cookbooks in my library and this is an essential educational guide and interesting way to look at baking. Dominique Ansel is a creative trailblazer and his knowledge of baking and ingredients are explained simply to make baking exciting and fun.

Could have used some explanation on ingredients
Overall the book looks good. I bought it because I specifically wanted the chocolate chip cookies recipe since I loved it at the bakery in NYC. I just made the cookies and they turned out okay. Not like the bakery. They def need more chocolate chips. Like twice as much to since the amount called for yielded almost chipless looking ones. I will try again.I find it a little annoying that some of the ingredients are simplified as "chocolate chips" or "cocoa flour" when I see in many recipes they specify what kind of cocoa, Dutch-processed or regular for example. Or for the kind of chocolate chips he uses, the standard size? Wafer disc things? Feves? I think he could have had a section discussing ingredients with some detail or in each recipe added as a note, when there are so many options for each kind and I don't want to play the guessing game. It's a mix-and-match type of book so you have to keep flipping through pages to put together one recipe. I am not sure how I feel about that; I like recipes written down all in one space. I don't care if it gets repetitive! It's full of blank spaces throughout the book with one line for the recipe saying "make this base on page X and add 1 thing" so might as well fill it up.It could also use more pictures. Most recipes don't have one. There are a lot of artsy shots spanning two pages that aren't labelled.

Amazing recipes and images! Very clear book
I love this book because I love and admire its creators content. This type of baking is a bit more elaborated. The book isn’t to follow a specific long recipe, but for you to learn how to mix and match different recipes and start creating your own desserts. The book has many individual recipes for bases, sponges, creams, filling etc, and then a few recipes where it tells you “ok, you’ll use the base from page 22, filling from page 75 and frosting from page 152” so you’ll need to follow 3 individual recipes for 1 full dessert. I love it but it’s not ideal for a very beginner baker.

Please Marry Me Dominique (even though we're both already married :)
How is it that the best pastry chef in the world can make recipes that are easy to follow? Dominique Ansel is so creative and his recipes are amazing. I love that he gives the basics then tells you how to do variations - allowing your own creativity to spark. I highly recommend all of his cookbooks - even if you don't bake a single thing - they make you feel good just looking through them and having them sitting on your shelf!

What an unique book!!
This book is so unique- the way of editing, the beautiful fabric-like cover, the comfortable touch feeling, the messages of the author wants to pass to the readers are so creative. No wonder he can create long and fast selling products in a such competitive field. This is not a step-by-step book; but, the readers will learn to free their mind to create their own sweets. Also, the experienced bakers can get the inspiration from this book.I highly recommend it.Besides, the price is way too cheap compared to other baking books.

Glorious book!
Written in a lovely engaging and encouraging style by someone who is obviously passionate about his craft. Clear explanations and a lovely concept. I like the way all recipes are written for the same size cake tin so no requirement to have different tins and mould of all shapes and sizes. It’s very practical and a great introduction to patisserie. It may sound wierd but I also loved the feel of the book. It’s clearly laid out and printed on robust paper. I get as much joy sitting and reading it as I do eating the cakes!
