Winsor & NewtonCotman Watercolor Paint, 8ml (0.27-oz) Tube, Raw Sienna

I have the Winsor & Newton studio palette & needed some replacement colors. The only replacements for half pans I could find were professional colors. Rather than spend so much on those I took another look on Amazon for Cotman tubes & decided on those.Refilled a couple of them and so far they seem to be drying and working well. Plus, I have lots more color in the tubes to refill them lots more times.

I use this pigment to flatten and mute my colors. The white brightens but blends well to give the colors a washed out look without distorting the richness too much. It's got a lovely thick consistency and while I typical mix straight from the tube it does re-wet well from a pallet without crumbling and flaking. The tube size is perfect as I use it quite extensively but even still a little goes a long way. This is my go-to pigment for white. The packaging was well packed/padded, and the shipping speed was quick and consistently, I've bought this product from this seller multiple times

This watercolor paint was one of the specific ones I needed for my 1st watercolor class. I didn't know there are different qualities of paints. This one is recommended by professionals and I used it successfully in my project.

I only use Winston & Newton and Cottman brands on my watercolor Art.

This was the best watercolor for fabric staining. I had tried a couple, and just not had any luck at all. I was really bummed, and decided to try one more, and this one was fantastic. If you don't know what you can do with watercolor for fabric staining - spend 10 minutes on pinterest. You won't be sad.Pros:1) This stained fabric with no issues. I used this on my daughter's navy blue compression vest - neoprene fabric. I had absolutely no luck with getting the paint to show up and stain with previous attempts, so I decided to try this one and it worked. Her once blue vest is now fit for a princess.2) a LOT of paint. This is a crazy good value in a tube. I love it!3) the rose is a beautiful color. I was very pleased with it being a nice pink, but not blazing hot pink or anything crazy.4) tube seals nicely. I used a good amount of paint, sealed the tube and came back to it a couple of weeks later. I was thrilled to find that there was no drying around the top, and no wasted paint.Cons:1) I don't have any complaints on this one. I am not using it in a traditional sense, but for fabric staining, etc. this is an absolutely phenomenal product!

I remember thinking the price was awfully high for a tube of watercolor when I ordered it. I was needing the color Sepia really bad, and had not been able to obtain it through our local craft stores.I finally tried Amazon to see if I could get Sepia in watercolor and acrylic for my supplies. There they were by different suppliers. I ordered both.Today, I needed to use the watercolor Sepia. I put it with my set of watercolors and saw the Winsor & Newton Cotman tube was twice the size of all my other watercolors. Then I used the paint as needed. Color is perfect and what I expected.The 21 ml tube of watercolor by Winsor & Newton Cotman is a great value for the price. I'm very happy with it. Also, the cap and fitting are different, and I am not expecting to have any problems with the lid becoming stuck or the tube of paint drying out.This has been a very satisfying purchase for me. I highly recommend this brand of watercolor.

well, actually I have loved this paint in the past and ordered this when I ran low on that color but this tube arrived crushed and leaking. Amazon refunded me instantly as soon as I requested the refund. Great service is why I always use Prime. As far as Cotman paints, they are good for what they are: quality student watercolors at an affordable price point, and most of them are transparent unlike many other student level watercolors that are chalky and opaque. I started off with Cotmans and I now prefer professional grade paints, but I still use the Cotmans with a wet dilution for pastel colors or to try out some new to me techniques, paper or brushes when I do not want to worry about "wasting" good/pricey pro paints. I also set them out for my grandkids to use as these paints are non toxic (unlike my pro paints) and deliver more color per stroke than the child watercolor paint sets. They enjoy using them.

I was looking for a bright green that would be ready on my palette. This is a nice color but not quite what I was looking for. Although I can use it to mix other greens or sea greens. These Windsor Newton Cotman paints are a great student grade paint. I would recommend these for beginners who are not ready to commit to artist grade paints and prices.

I had been using an elderly large tube of Cotman Chinese White for a long time but needed more. ( It is not a colour I use often but occasionally like to try and emulate the Victorians who used body colour to great effect.) I wouldn't have thought that you could make a hash of making a white but this tube has proved me wrong.it has an odd stiff texture, when mixed with other pigments makes them dry very dull and sets like a rock on the palette, refusing to rewet. Very different to the Cotman paint I had been using. ( I know this is student grade but had always found their opaque pigments economical and satisfactory.)I was mystified until I found the only difference between the old and new tubes was that the new tube had"Made in China" in miniscule print on it- the old one said "Made in the UK". I don't mind much where my paint is made. I have lots of lovely paints from many different countries but do object when a hitherto reliable brand begins outsourcing then selling inferior products in the same livery as what was once a good quality product. This definitely does not live up to the claims of quality made in the description.lf you need Chinese White watercolour paint buy another brand, not this one.

This is a good watercolour tube based paint - the black is deep enough and it provides all you might expect from the product. Price wise there are possibly cheaper out there but it performs well and whilst tubes always present the problem that you might not be able to get 100% of product out before you need to discard the tube, the black is a colour that can be used sparingly so it will provide a good coverage/many paintings/projects before you run out

Somethings not quite right with This, I mean it was really cheap so not sure what I expected, maybe it’s out of date? I’ve got lots of these that all react with water the same way and this doesn’t.. it’s a lot thicker than normal and doesn’t spread how I would expect. The sender also didn’t pay the correct postage so I had to foot the bill, only a couple quid by still! and after messages from myself and amazon have not replied. Wouldn’t buy from these guys again and will be visiting my art shop to buy this directly as the product doesn’t seem the usual quality.

As someone new to the world of painting I seem to get through a lot of white trying to achieve a desirable shade so after a lot of head scratching I bought this. I am very pleased with it, it seems to have good pigmentation and is easy to apply although very slightly thinner than my previous tube that came with the set. I can't really fault it for the money though the packaging offers very little protection. My tube wasn't squashed or damaged but I think I was just lucky. Will be buying again when it runs out.
