English-Style Ice Bag/Pack Cold Therapy to Reduce Swelling, Decrease Pain and Offer Cold Compression Relief from Bruises, Migraines, Aches, Swellings, Headaches and Fever, 9" Diameter

I ordered this product in the summer of 2018 but am reviewing two years later in August 2020. This ice pack is still useable and in working order. It isn't the only one I use nor do I use it that often but it is important to note for the price and materials that it is still pretty close to it's original condition.The pack works by adding ice through the opening that is accessed by a screw cap. I have had no water leakage with this top. I think it is important to properly clean and store this item or it will fall apart as with any ice or heating product. I clean mine by hand washing the exterior and interior if necessary. I set it out to dry thoroughly before placing it back in the box or a similar container for storage.The great thing about these "English style " packs is the ease of packing and traveling with them. Also you don't have to wait for them to get cold since you are adding ice to an empty shell.I suffer from cluster headaches and always need ice packs so this is one of several in my arsenal but I am very pleased with it and will buy more. It has also been used for other bumps and bruises on elbows, feet etc because the design allows for the ice to "mold" around the body part needing it.I hope this helps. Cheers!

Great little ice bag. Very convenient for icing injuries or boo boos for the kids. Bag gets very cold, almost as cold as using a plain plastic ziploc bag but it does not sweat like a plastic bag would. The ice in the bag also stays in pieces and doesn't form into a huge ice ball which is a plus. I recently had surgery on my shoulder and got this to use and it works as expected. I have used it approximately 10 times so far with no leaks. As you can see from the picture I provided, the top is threaded so it screws onto the bag, no way it will leak with this lid type. Only issue I have is that once filled with ice the bag is approximately 7 inches in diameter (see photo). I believe the 9 inches advertised is the diameter off the bag when empty. So if you need to cover a bigger area I would recommend getting a larger size bag. Additionally, I have not used this bag with hot water, but I see no reason that it would not perform perfectly as a hot water bag as well.

This ice pack is AWESOME!!! My Daughter is going through the age where she feels she need an ice pack for everything!!!! I usually use the "boo boo pack" or something similar but they are either left out and not frozen when I need them. They slip into the couch, or lost in her play room. My Neighbor took one of these in a similar brand out for her Son as he is the same age and I immediately had to have one.My Daughter loves this thing! She carries it around everywhere and it is so convenient. Stays cold for a super long time! So long, I have not been able to get an accurate time as I wind up dumping it before it is melted and store it away for more than likely the "next day". Ha ha.This has also help me with my migraines! So easy to load up and use. Then dump out and put upside down on a paper towel to make sure it dries out to store away. I would say I need more of these, but honestly, this baby does the trick and I don't know when I will need two ongoing ice packs. BUT if I do, I will most definitely re-order this!

Thick fabric, the top is easier to open n close than old style. The only draw back is the folds in the fabric, it makes it almost impossible to dry out in between uses. Otherwise I would have given it 5 star rating

This English Ice Cap was exactly what I was looking for to ice my foot. I have particular problems around my heel and ankle, so a flat ice pack doesn't work at all. I'd been using doubled-up gallon freezer bags filled with ice and water, but they don't allow as much cold to flow through when they're doubled. They are also not especially comfortable directly against the skin. Add to that the constant worry about leakage, and they just weren't cutting it.This English ice cap actually appears to be two layers that are connected at the cap--the inner layer is rubber, while the outer is a water proof fabric. It is perfect in that the large half-oval ice chunks from my freezer easily fit into the cap opening. I fill the rest of the bag with ice, and then simply fill with water. You do have to be careful to make sure that the cap is on evenly, but that's a couple of seconds of work. There have been a couple of times where I thought the bag was leaking, but in reality, it was just that it got so cold from the inside that the cold came all the way through the bag. Close inspection showed no moisture on the outside of the bag or anywhere around the area I was using it.I have tried both using the bag by resting it on the impacted area and by using an ace bandage to hold it in place. I find that I prefer not to have it bandaged in place because it gets so cold that I can't stand it for very long. When it's loose, I an adjust my foot or the bag as necessary. I have also tried using this on my elbow, but find that I can only keep it on the impacted area with an ace bandage, and that's just too heavy for the area where I need it.My kids are sort of enthralled by this bag and keep coming up with imaginary aches and pains so they can use it. The one I got is patterned with a white background and tiny blue snowflakes all over it. I'm planning to look for similar packs with more kid-centric patterns to deal with their little hurts.

These are nice ice packs, no leaks, nice texture, thick walled. They smelled like new plastics when fresh out of the box, but not for long or too offensive. My only slight quam, why is the mouth not big enough to fit standard ice cubes easily from an in fridge ice maker. (All of the ice packs I have ever tried at this style have the exact same problem) When they got dirty, I washed them in without the lids with a load of towels and a bit of bleach and they came nice and clean. I dried them in the sun.
