Historic interesting book. I listened to it on my echo at night.
I have a brain injury and it's annoying if a voice doesn't agree with my ears and brain. Sound can be especially hard to deal with after a traumatic brain injury. I can switch the echo's voices until I find one more soothing to my ears. I was listening at 70% speed. Life is very over whelming due to stimulus. Some days are way worse than others.I highly recommend kindles for people with traumatic brain injuries. It's very user friendly and I can go back 5 minutes as long as it takes to understand.

Beautiful, thoughtful, and engaging
I just finished reading Claire Dunne's portrait of Carl Jung and wanted to share what a powerful and inspiring work this is. Ms. Dunne did a wonderful job of telling the story of Jung's evolving and awakening soul as he lived his life fully as a real individual with great gifts and real shortcomings. The book really reflects both the real earthiness of Jung "the peasant" and the highest and deepest explorations of Jung the genius and truthseeker. More than anything else, it seems to me, that you cannot be in the presence of Carl Jung (either in person or through the skillful help of this author) without feeling, as the poet Helena Henderson is quoted in the book, "Above all I remember someone who, by his every word and action, gave one the feeling that life is a good thing--something even more precious to me than anything he put on paper." (p. 109) The book has really blessed me, and it will be one I turn to again and again. I hope others enjoy it as much as I have.

This Book Demonstrates How Jung Was a Natural Art Therapist!
I love this book! It traces with narrative and images how Jung was a natural art therapist (although it does not directly say that but demonstrates it) beginning as a child through adulthood. A very easy book to understand about Jung and probably the most beautiful images you will find other than in the Red Book. I used this book to assist teaching an undergraduate class at SSU in art therapy and Carl Jung. We went through all the same art processes that Jung did to explore individuation and Jung's theories. I do suggest that you read his autobiography, "Memories, Dreams, and Reflections" along with it to get a full understanding of Jung's life and process.Martha Love, author of What's Behind Your Belly Button?: A Psychological Perspective of the Intelligence of Human Nature and Gut Instinct

Excellent book
I have long held Jung to be a prophet, and this book clearly reveals his relationship to his Maker was inspired, his main message being "The real history of the world seems to be the progressive incarnation of the deity. "

Unique insights
This book offers insights into how Jung's experiences kept enlarging his view of the human psyche. Inspiring and helpful.

Powerful visuals and
This is the Jung book to have at hand, whether one is a 'Jungian', a seeker after individuation, or an artist. Ms. Dunn has brought us the humanity of Dr. Carl Jung, bringing us into his life and making his work accessible. It is richly illustrated. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Three Stars
It's okay. Haven't finished it yet.

A mediocre addition to the Jung bookshelf
The ideas are interesting, often evocative, but add little to an appreciation of Jung that can be derived elsewhere. As an art historian I find the inclusion of arbitrary works of art as "illustrative" to be irritating, and arrogant.

Beautiful
This book is a work of art. The work that went into it. You can feel the energy of it. It's a beautiful feeling to hold it in your hand. This book was made to please the soul.

A good biography and a fine introduction to C G Jung
The biography records Jung as lamenting that he himself was not a Jungian. I am C G Jung! Giving that Jung's whole approach was towards "individuation" revolving around the mystery of each unique human being who must each find their own path, this lament by Jung is surely relevant.Rather than an introduction to Jung that details the various key words of his "system", maybe a biography such as this is a better option. The "key words" are here, but integrated into a life lived, embodied. Many excerpts from Jung's letters can be found here and the quotes are often illuminating. There are many fine illustrations including one or two drawn from Jung's "Red Book". Recommended.
